I'll think of your run while I'm drinking my coffee in my pjs. Ha ha. Jk. That's awesome!

Oh, I think about them every other Sunday morning.... "Great, only a 4 miler this Saturday. Oh, wait, that means a 11 MILER the next day?!"

:( ;)

Who has experience with a pacemaker in the Disney Parks ? I will be going in June 2017 and I have gotten a pacemaker since my last visit in 2010. I am 42 years old, very active. My doctor told me NO THRILL rides, ONLY slow moving rides like It's a Small World etc. Who has a pacemaker and what was your experience like in the park from arriving to leaving ?

Did you ride the monorail ? Have any issues ?
What rides did you ride ? Have any issues ?

I have a single lead pacer implanted and just wanted feedback from guest with similar issues/concerns.

Thanks
Michael

I would post a thread on this topic, if I were you. Good questions. You'll probably get more educated answers there! :)

I just started a thread on the subject since we've hijacked this one again ;)

At least on this specific thread we were talking about sports that weren't "off topic" to the OP.lol

Here's a link to an old thread...

If you type pace makers in the search box above, you should find other threads on the topic..

Good luck!

I think somehow in the past few years if a vacation is less than 100% perfect then (some) people fly off the handle and expect compensation.
Well, maybe if a Disney vacation wasn't so much more expensive than, say, a Busch Gardens vacation, people wouldn't have such high expectations.

Even a 50% Disney vacation is better than a 100% Busch Gardens vacation. The expectations are there because Disney has a long history of providing families with great vacations.

People flying off the handle and expecting compensation is the fault of major retail and restaurant corporations. They have allowed every customer to believe that they are right, even when they are wrong. These complainers have learned that you can eat half your meal, complain, then they take it off your bill and give you free desert. Soon they complain about everything, including a 95% perfect vacation.

I hate hills. Hate is too light of a word. It's why there are many races that I have no interest in ever participating in.
Here's the course of the only one I've ever done. Did I mention that I HATE hills? Luckily they're in the beginning of the course. But omg they suck. Other races in driving distance have much worse hills, which is again, why I would never do one.lol

I'm really interested in the Disney one. It sounds like so much fun and would be a great ✔ in life. I just don't know if I want to spend a vacation following such a strict schedule..don't know if I would be able to go to sleep early evening while at WDW. I'm definitely intrigued though. Do a lot of people stop along the way to meet characters? The photos look so neat, but does that throw off your pace?

I'm trying to google a course map, with the elevation, for the Disney marathon, or even a half, does anyone have a photo?
Do the 13.1 peeps get to do the after hours festivities, or only the full participants?
There is a Local 5k we do up in Michigan every year that benefits a local cancer charity and it is a simple down and back. Well in the first and last 75 yards there is a cobblestone road with a curve that has about a 25-30 degree incline. On the way out it is ok because it is downhill you just have to watch your footing because it is incredibly uneven. On the way back however going uphill on cobblestones it kills everything below the knees!

You're actually comparing Walt Disney World to Busch Gardens?! That's as ridiculous as me saying "perhaps if Paris wasn't so much more expensive than Toledo...."

Sorry, over 50 million people disagreed with you in 2015. They can't all be sheeps....

"Hills" is a relative term depending on where you live. Personally, I like running courses with some hills. I train on hills and am strong running up inclines - unfortunately, I don't like like going down steeper hills. As far as WDW goes, there are hills and then there are "Disney Hills" aka highway ramps and over passes. The inclines are gradual and the total elevation change is minimal. The loop between mile 10 & 11 on the half course can be a little challenging because of when it occurs and the side-to-side banking of the turn.

The uphill at the end would be horrible!! At least ours is a hill in the beginning half.

I joked when I moved here that "I live in the mountains!" I still drive below the speed limit on certain roads.lol. I don't live in the mountains, but I definitely live in a place with a lot of large hills. I love rollerblading, but can't go out my front door and even do a 10-15 mile route bc of the hills (and lack of sidewalks) I need to go to a park for that.

Anyone who rollerblades 10-15 miles isn't lazy at all. That's like the jerk who called us runners lazy because I said I'd love a later start time for Disney races so I could get up at 4am, rather than 3am...

"Better"? That's a value-loaded judgment. Disney still provides a quality experience -- until they don't. Or we wouldn't see this thread on this board.

I guess it's that old customer service proverb, "the customer is always right," getting in the way again. Not to worry, though -- seems like WDW is catching on to your way of thinking.

Depends on what you want, or expect, from a theme park vacation. I used to live an hour from the MK parking lot, and a half-hour from preferred parking at BGT. Many was the time I chose to spend my money at BGT because of wants/expectations, and I dare say I was just as satisfied by my BGT experiences as I was by my WDW experiences...for a lot less money/hassle/travel time.
