Map Studying

We are better. It was ROUGH this weekend. I passed out when I got home from the Easter Egg hunt and slept for a good 6 hours so that helped. Last night was the best night's sleep we have probably had in about 3 weeks so that was nice. Don't expect it to last though because our oldest dog had to have surgery yesterday having a fatty tumor removed and I don't expect him to sleep very well unless they have him medicated pretty heavily. :( Thank you for asking! And thanks for answering. I don't feel like I am such a wacko. :)

On my last trip I was with two of my girlfriends for their first trip. On the 3rd day they asked why everyone else was carrying "little brochures". I told them those were park maps and that we didn't need one. We ended up grabbing some for souvenirs before we left.

I will grab an MK one this time though since it will be my first trip to New Fantasyland.

Nobody ever is! I hope it's not that serious!
He has had two HUGE fatty tumors in 6 months that have hindered his movement. The first was on his paw pad and grew to the size of a baseball. This one has been on his shoulder and is the size of probably a baseball and a half. They are super hard and in pockets, so they haven't been hard to remove. But as soon as they are removed another larger one will grow somewhere else. So it is coming down to how many times can he take being put under (he has a congenital heart murmur that adds to this stress) and is it really worth it. I have watched him decline for months being at home all day long with him. My husband doesn't see it or won't see it, which I am sympathetic to because they are our babies too.

Never did. My first trip was solo - I was in Orlando for work. I just wandered around, mostly looking at things and trying to decide if the lines were too long. :)

Next trip, son had the map and picked it all up super-fast. He only needed the map for a short time. We'd stand in line for one ride, he'd study the map while we did...and after that, he knew where he was going. It was weird. I was seriously impressed.

After that, DS remembered where everything was and directed us. Over time, I just got to learn it all. You walk around the parks enough, you just learn them. :)

DHS is the most confusing park, IMO. Sea World is second hardest. Epcot is easiest. :)

My family and I used to use the maps, but now we really don't. I still pick up a few maps and times guides so I can save them. It's nice to see how the map pictures/parks have changed over the years. This past time I did find myself reading the map while in line to pass the time.

We love the maps. I have maps saved up from all of my visits going back to 1977.

What is great to look at now is that on the 1977 trip I "rated" all of the rides on a five star scale and I got to look back on what I loved at the time. Fast forward to last week, and I catch my daughter doing the same thing. :D

With as many times as we've been to WDW and as much as I keep up with things here and on other sites, it's been quite a while since I've picked up a park map for anything other than a souvie.
There were 13 of us on our last trip in July and it was pretty much... "Just follow dad/Steve!" ;) :)
