Mansion's Hidden Mickey Gone; Splash Mountain Update

  • While riding the Haunted Mansion last night (7:00ish) we noticed that the right saucer plate that makes up the Hidden Mickey's ear in the ballroom scene was gone. It wasn't moved around on the table to another spot; it was completely gone. I'm sure it will be back shortly, but thought it was interesting to report.

  • Last week I reported the condition of Splash Mountain. A few more of the animatronics seemed to be working yesterday. All of the bees were now spinning in the Laughing Place and the water was leaping over the logs. The shadow of Brer Fox still isn't working, along with hopping Brer Rabbit and the Brer Bear stuck in the trap. I had also mentioned that the shadow of Bear and Fox chasing Rabbit of the hill wasn't too hot. It was back to the way it was all those years and doesn't look horrible anymore.

Its an unoffical one so when imaginers (sp) get word of this they will shut down the ride and move it back to way it is supposed to be.

As we were told on the Keys to the Kingdom tour, the "Hidden Mickey" saucer plates arent a "official" hidden mickey. We were told that the CM's add it then the imagineers remove it and that this "game" has been going on for years. However I cant remember the last time I rode it and it wasnt there.

The real Hidden Mickey on the Haunted Mansion is in the graveyard scene, made by the shadow in the Grim Reaper's sleave.

the hidden mickey will be back. There is a certain mansion CM or two that takes the hidden mickey out on a regular basis. The hidden mickey can pretty much be called official now, they even made a trading pin of it and explained the hidden mickey concept on the back of the pin card.

It's in his hand that's up in the air. (To the right of the image which would be the Reaper's left hand)

Now...is it true that there's a skeleton hand coming out of the ground in the graveyard that's holding a FastPass? (I heard it's near the end right before you see the Hitchhiking Ghosts and I've seen a hand coming out of the ground but I can't make out if it's holding a FastPass or not)

I've seen that. I don't remember seeing anything in its hand tho. I did see what looked like a price tag on something but I really can't remember what it was now?

I believe there was a Fastpass Photoshopped in it at one time as a promotion for the FP Program. I don't believe he actually holds one on the attraction, though.

There's another Hidden Mickey in the attic. As you pass the bride, look at the last wooden post on the left, whatever the stuff is that hangs from it forms one. You really have to be paying attention to see it.

I rode Haunted Mansion again tonight and the plate was still missing.

The waterfall next to the "drop" before the riverboat scene in Splash Mountain was actually turned on today. I forgot to report it yesterday, but it was turned off yesterday and everytime I've rode since it opened after its rehab. Nothing else was different today than yesterday.

It's been back (and possibly removed, and back again, and removed, etc.) since October. Last Saturday I know for a fact it was there because I pointed it out to my mother who was visiting.

From what Steve told me, it was apparently only a ride-system rehab. Easy to see considering the amount of stuff that still looked bad and/or didn't work.
