If this person is really 13, none of what you said is going to make any sense.

However, you are right. Too many parents are trying to insulate their kids from the evils of the world instead of educating them about it. Instead of being the role models of a generation, a lot of these "insulators" are just enabling the problems of the world.

I know. In my day job I deal with a lot of milennials and entitlement issues (I don't want to elaborate further as I like my job & get paid fairly well, so I don't want to screw that up). I meet with these folks on a weekly basis along with their program director and some of the complaints I hear make my jaw drop. They work hard & I don't discount that, but after they finish training, no matter how much counseling we give they aren't prepared for what they find in the real world. I've been in my current position got 10 years and have seen this over & over again.
