Making Magic with MJ

Hi, I'm Amy. And I totally get the mom thing...ever have one of those days where if you hear your "name" (mommy!!!) one more time you'll scream? I have to remind myself I'm lucky to have someone calling me mommy...but it gets a little rough sometimes! :)

Hi Amy. How many kids do you have? I have 5. (2 sons and 3 daughters) boys- 25 almost 26, 22, and the girls 12,10, and 8.

LOL!!! I have one!!! I'm such a wimp.

I don't know how you do it...I actually wish I had five, but I think I got started too late. Em is about to turn five, and I'm about to turn 36. Still, I'd love to have more.

I was 36 when I had my 3rd one. and then 25 months later and then 22 months later.:zipit: I said no more. I love my kids sooo much but sometimes I just need a break. The boys are out of the house now so that helps. But the girls are a handful.

Do you work? (outside of home)

Unfortunately, I do have to work...which I thought I wanted to do when I was a 21 year old college feminist! I had no idea (who does?) that it would be so hard to leave her every day (and I thank God for my mom and sisters, they watch her for me). I know now that being a mom is the hardest and most important job out there...

Yep, I bet those girls are a handful!!! Funny how you had a bunch of boys and then girls...is it a lot different raising them?

P.S. - I just want to note that I am awarding myself a medal for actually folding the laundry tonight instead of dumping it in the basket :D

Well since mine are in school now it helps. I only work part time at a church on Wed nights and Sunday Mornings. Believe it or not I work in the nursery.

My DH wanted at least one more so we could have another boy.:brick:

I would have just dumped it.:o I get tired of house work. and then all the paper work that goes with the bills.:hammer:

I used to think I wanted to work too, but then again I thought I didn't want children. HAH! Now I can't work even though we could use me too, but that is okay since I can't imagine being away from MJ. I will start homeschooling her next year (well, we'll start a bit this year and start for real next year, this year is about getting her used to the schedule and stuff)

I was 31 when MJ was born, I am so glad I waited till I was older, I could never have done this at 21 or even 26

I'm in a Christmasy mood.

:xmas: :xmas: :xmas: :xmas: :xmas: :xmas:

I'm getting there, although right now all MJ wants to do is Tick Teets which is kinda funny when you realize that she can't eat any of the candy. I bring two treat bags, one empty and one filled with toys, I give her the empty one at the start and then pull a fast switch at the end. This year she gets to trick or treat twice the 17th and 31st the 31st is our wedding anniversary

I've heard it said things come to us when we are ready for them, and I truly believe that.

You get to go twice...fun! I know you live close, you're so lucky. Every once in a while I get it into my head that I should move down there (we're in PA) but then I think I would miss the seasons too much. I'm such a mid-atlantic girl. :)

I actually went into the attic today and brought down all our Christmas decorations. I'm one to always edge the drive and walk in lights as well as outline the house and roof line. Much like a gingerbread house. We put out the motion reindeer and Santa sleigh too. I went through it all today, stretching the lights out and replacing any burnt out bulbs. I promised my little girl I'd put them up early this year. We've just got to convince mom now that it won't be too tacky if we do it in the next few weeks. :)

Last year I procrastinated and did'nt get them up until we returned home on Dec. 3 from our trip to WDW. We only had 3 weeks to enjoy them then. The neighbors always comment and enjoy them as much as we do. We're in an older subdivision and a lot of our neighbors are retired, in their 70's and 80's and don't get out at night much to enjoy the holiday lights. We're going again this year the week after Thanksgiving and I promised Emma we'd never wait that long again to put up the lights. This year they're coming on right after Halloween

That sounds so pretty KrazyKowboy! We have an apt, so no outside lights for us, but I have 10 boxes of inside decorations and I haven't decorated in 3 years, so I am really ready.

I actually really hate FL Amy, aside from WDW I'm really not happy here. We are going to the NSSHP on the 17th, so she gets to go then and then we'll take her to DtD or somethingfor Halloween night

Hi Dana!!! How are you??? Any craziness tonight?

KrazyKowboy, I love your enthusiasm. Wish my honey was that motivated! :)

Bonny, are you not originally from Florida? Do you miss where you used to be? I expect I wouldn't like it that much, because I hear you guys have bugs and stuff like that...but Disney is a big draw.

Just did another online order at Gymboree (God help me, I can't stay way from that store. I think I have a problem.)...for any of you who shop there, midnight EST is the deadline for a great 30% discount on adorable fall stuff...crcfriend is the discount code.
