Surprisingly, this thread has made it so far without any Universal fan coming in and blaming tourists for their own perceptions of the ride's shortcomings.

Refreshing! :king:

I think I speak for most hardcore Universal fans when I say that Rockit was a big mistake. Not only is it not integrated (thematically, aesthetically) as, say, The Hulk, the ride itself is okay at best, the music hardly ever works, the "theme" is weak, and they still can't get it working correctly. I absolutely hate what it did to the sight lines of the park. It's a fun ride, but that the end of the day, that's about all it is. I expect more from Universal.

There's an actual code you can put into the coaster to play Megadeth? Care to share it? I'm going in November.

There was a whole list of "secret" codes that you could enter that would allow you to play music that was not official. When I was there about a month ago, though, the codes weren't working anymore. It would let you go through the steps of entering the code, but would then just play a generic rock soundtrack.

If you enter a number associated with a working song title it works. If not, it uses the default.

So if you were on the ride when the coupling broke, would you want to be in the front car or back car? I'm curious cause if I ride it again I want to try to live.
Also, I thought the ride was nice when I rode it last november. Granted the staff running it were morons and put me in the single rider line in the station after I waited the 90 minute full que.

PAGE NOT FOUND???

Plug in Rip Ride Rockit in search on Orland Sentinel website, and you will find story archive.

On side note, visited Universal / IOA in December 2009 before holiday rush. The day I visited the park, Rip Ride Rockit was down for off-season maintenance. I know there are a lot of negative comments about the ride, but wanted to experience it for myself. Cross fingers Universal will fix the problems.

Negative stories from the Orlando theme parks often myteriously disappear over time from the virtual archives.

Odd that.
