Red Dot Net is a subsidiary of Digital On Demand. Red Dot is the outfit that runs the create your own CD business.
"RedDotNet's first installation went live during the grand re-opening of Tomorrowland in May of 1998, in the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, California. Nine futuristic preview stations invite visitors to view video and preview music while creating their own custom CD compilations of music from their favorite Disneyland theme park lands. A second Disneyland installation of five American Bandstand-themed preview stations opened in June 1999 at the grand opening of the Main Street Music store on Disneyland's Main Street. In June 1999, RedDotNet completed installations in Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom, MGM Studios, Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and Downtown Disney.
RedDotNet's second-generation system was installed in Target in November, 1999. The system fulfilled the dream of on-demand delivery of digital inventory of music in a retail environment. The system featured music licensed from four major labels: BMG Entertainment, EMI Recorded Music, Sony Music Entertainment, and Universal Music Group. A host of other music retailers soon followed.
RedDotNet's third and current generation system debuted in Barnes&Noble in September, 2000. Since then the system has been gaining momentum, as its virtues, flexibility and ROI have time and again proven themselves."
