Red Dot Net is a subsidiary of Digital On Demand. Red Dot is the outfit that runs the create your own CD business.

"RedDotNet's first installation went live during the grand re-opening of Tomorrowland in May of 1998, in the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, California. Nine futuristic preview stations invite visitors to view video and preview music while creating their own custom CD compilations of music from their favorite Disneyland theme park lands. A second Disneyland installation of five American Bandstand-themed preview stations opened in June 1999 at the grand opening of the Main Street Music store on Disneyland's Main Street. In June 1999, RedDotNet completed installations in Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom, MGM Studios, Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and Downtown Disney.

RedDotNet's second-generation system was installed in Target in November, 1999. The system fulfilled the dream of on-demand delivery of digital inventory of music in a retail environment. The system featured music licensed from four major labels: BMG Entertainment, EMI Recorded Music, Sony Music Entertainment, and Universal Music Group. A host of other music retailers soon followed.

RedDotNet's third and current generation system debuted in Barnes&Noble in September, 2000. Since then the system has been gaining momentum, as its virtues, flexibility and ROI have time and again proven themselves."

Yup, indeed! I would buy these CDs from Disney if they were if available, because I like to see them come out and would support that. However, since they aren't, I resort to downloading.

Trust me, I feel your pain about not being able to obtain "non-commercially" available songs...im just saying..its still illegal :)

I have known people who HAVE gotten busted for this (and my advice is for anyone who works at disney..in ANY form...watch your back..they watch you guys the most)..its not pretty. Disney takes their copyrights VERY seriously.

btw, a LOT of Disney ambience music is from other artists. so if you're looking for ambience music, just look around and find out who did it, then buy their cd. the new tomorrowland music (before they recently changed it) is a good example. try looking up David Arkenstone and Ray Lynch (Lynch did some of the music that they use for Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playset and Wonders of Life).

Sorry, but you set me up for a shameless plug here... :lookaroun

If you check out the Music Loops link in my sig, it has all the information I've been able to compile (with the help of countless others) on music loops in all 4 resorts, along with links to CDs of the original artists. And if anyone has more info on any loop, I'm always looking to add it!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your link helped me find out the artist's and cd's for a few tunes I was looking for. Now actually finding them might be a different story. But at least I FINALLY have a starting point. You don't know how thrilled I am to finally have this info. Since I can't kiss you in person...
If your ever in Philly I owe you big time !!

why, thank you very much for the link, Kirsten! I'm very impressed! how in the world did you get ALL that info, and THEN have the patience to put it all up? you might have actually helped me in finding some music that my sister and i have been searching for for approx. 2 years!
GREAT job! :sohappy:

Thank y'all! I'm glad you like it!! One day last year I got sick of trying to dig around the internet (usually fruitlessly) everytime I wanted some info on a particular loop... so I decided to make a website and compile it all in one place! ;) I can only take credit for personally figuring out a couple of the loops on the site - the rest of the credit belongs to others out there on the internet, especially the folks on the www.magicmusic.net boards. They've been incredibly helpful and supportive on the project! :)

I've downloaded and burned hours upon hours of ride audio (Spaceship Earth, It's Tough to be a Bug, etc..), exterior loops, queue music, resort tv loops, all kinds of stuff from, kids, cover your eyes... Kazaa.

Go on Kazaa, type in Epcot, or Magic Kingdom, or Walt Disney World, and there is tons of stuff out there... some of it is exceptional quality. Trust me, if Disney was selling stuff like that, I would have gladly bought it... but the music CDs they put out for the WDW resort is just lacking.

It's funny. Laws in the US give rights to all citizens, yet some just throw those rights away.:animwink:
