Schools are back in session today, it's gross and rainy, Touring Plans shows DLR crowds at 4 out of 10 today... and there's currently a 50 minute wait for Big Thunder and a 70 minute wait for Star Tours. Yeeeeeeeeeesh.... RIP off season!

To be fair, there are no APs blocked out today and there are major attractions closed at both parks. But still!!!

I love the parks in the rain though it comes with it's own challenges like some rides closing. FYI, Knott's is closed today due to inclement weather.

As per usual, Knott's Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain were closed today due to rain.

While Disneyland remains open, the crowds are much lighter than last week but certainly not "dead".

At 4pm with light showers around, there's a 45 minute wait for Space Mt. and Guardians of the Galaxy, but only a 30 minute wait for Star Tours, Indiana Jones, and Radiator Springs Racers.

Over at Micechat they seem to be surprised DL was busy yesterday eventhough it was the first day blackouts were lifted for So Cal APs. I get that it was raining yesterday but it is also raining today and the wait times look pretty low.

I have a few rules for when NOT to visit Disneyland. Two of them are NEVER visit on the first day after extended blackouts and NEVER go on the first day of good weather after a few days or rain/ excessive heat. Not that these should be a surprise for most people on this site.

Thoughts and prayers with all affected. Its an unfortunate cycle with Cali. It rains and the undergrowth grows. It dries out and burns. It rains and the ground flows. Rinse, repeat.

California needs to get serious about fire prevention, and tell the environmentalists there are limits. The Native Americans cleared out forests, thinned them, and removed dead wood to help protect their camps, and even built fire breaks (converted it to ground farming).

We need to do it today, plus with new advancements, make the building codes require better roofing materials, sprinkler systems, etc.

When I was at the park on tues. the 9th we were walking down Main St. and I noticed the porch seats were empty so we sat down and were doing some people watching when the sky erupted. It was funny to see people screaming and running for cover. Even though crowds were light, so many attractions were closed and so few tables were dry at eateries that it mad it seem like a normal crowded day.
