Since you are doing lunch, some of the restaurants aren't open yet at the resorts. One option would be the Grand Floridian Cafe which is very nice. I think it depends if you want to go into one of the parks. Le Cellier and Hollywood Brown Derby (at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios) are very nice - just depends on if you want to go to the theme park. Another option is the restaurants at Downtown disney. Almost all of those are open for lunch. At the Wilderness Lodge - Whispering Canyon appears to serve lunch but I don't know if that is the atmosphere you want. Have a great time - what a fun place to get married!

Cali grill closing?!?!?1 Have I missed something?

Congratulations!!!!!! I think Artist Point is a great choice and no effort at all. Boma's might be nice too but you obviously have the transport issue. V&A would be nice but mega expensive.

Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding! :sohappy:

I actually got married in WDW in November, at the Poly! It was a fantastic day and you will love it!

I imagine it will be very very hot in August! So lots of sunshine! Just beware of the sun for your photos as we ended up with lots of us squinting!

We actually opted not to have dinner in our wedding attire and went for dinner in the evening instead as I didn't want to sit in dress all day!

I suppose your dining option depends on your budget, the number of guests and the type of guests!

You cant enter the parks in your dress so that rules out resturants in there!

Victoria and Alberts looks fab but pricey and they dont allow kids! If small number of guests this might be a good option!

A better priced option may be Narcoossee's, good menu and at Grand Floridan so really nice venue!

Im sure you will have a great time wherever you choose!

I just thought a lunch would be nice but not sure of any other place to have lunch that would be appropriate. If it comes down to it I guess it will be dinner instead and not in our wedding attire.

Sorry wrong place, its the concourse steakhouse that is closing down to be opened in the new building.

I think it depends on what you want - lunch just limits the options of the "more exclusive" restaurants. I really think the Grand Floridian Cafe would be realy cool - you could take the monorail from the Poly, and it is such a cool environment - it feels like a wedding if you ask me.
If you decide to do dinner - you just have to figure out what type of place you want - a fun environment for the group or a more formal environment. One thing that was not mentioned but has amazing food (if you like sea food) is the Blue Zoo at the Dolphin or Swan - it is amazing and would be a cool wedding night meal.

As long as you are at the WL I would suggest artist point, though, I am not sure how early they open and beware, they are expensive.

Are you going through a WDW wedding planner? I only ask, because no one in wedding attire is allowed in the parks, or on "public" transportation.

When I was planning a vow renewal, I had to arrange backstage transportation to get from the ceremony to the reception. (I ended up cancelling due to a family member's deteriorating health.)

I was going to ask the same thing...because there are rules as to what you can and can't do. Your wedding planner will also be able to help with deciding on a restaurant and seeing if your group can get in there.

Like many others have said it depends on the size of your party, how far do you want to travel and the always important budget $$$$ question. Because as you know if you are willing to pay for it Disney could almost arrange anything you wanted.

Even if the Calif.Grill is closed you can use some of the private rooms. We almost did this for a day after wedding brunch for our families. The rooms are nice and of course you cant beat the location. Instead we opted for Japan at Epcot and a CandleLight Processional package for 30.

If you have a Disney wedding planner they could help you with lots of ideas. They helped us pull off a great wedding weekend a year ago.

Congrats. and good luck.

We got married at Disney 2 years ago - and we went a different route, our wedding was small about 15 people total so we went to House of Blues after in our wedding attire.

Nothing like walking through downtown disney with my wife in her wedding gown and me in a tuxedo :ROFLOL: and not getting bbq on the gown was another great challenge but she pulled if off lovely

We just wanted a different atmosphere and the staff at the House of Blues was great, they closed off the back room and gave us free gifts

:sohappy: I love Disney

Its not a big deal about the parks and public transportations. We know all about those rules. We would be having the limo for the wedding so transportaton is ok. My concern was more for somewhere on site for lunch not in the parks.

I am actually having a vow renewal ceremony for our 10 anniversary on
AUG 11th @ 10:00 am!!!!
Anyway we are going to have lunch in one of the rooms in the California Grill, the Napa Room. It overlooks the Magic Kingdom. The room holds up to 50 people, and the menu looks great. Just an idea for you!!!

Good Luck and Congrats!!!
