Main Street Electrical Parade opening night video

Thanks for the video Steve.

Oh they have GOT to extend this parade past the summer! We'll be there in September and December so we can't possibly go this summer. I am hoping they are simply saying it is limited to the summer months in order to get as many people there during the this time, but then magically it will be extended "due to popular demand".

We will keep our fingers crossed!

Wow! I love it! :sohappy:

By the way, Steve. Do you have a video of the fireworks? :)

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it.

I think Disneyland already has this show in its schedule for December. I don't remember the reason but, if that is the case, it won't be able to be extended at WDW.

Finally, the Electrical Parade has returned home to Main Street. Thanks for the vid, I've been watching it and other YouTube vids all weekend in excitement to see this parade in a few short weeks!!!

If they are trying to pack it out for the summer they are doing a good job. The 9PM show was insane. I know the early parade is always more crowded than the later, but they had the place packed. Between the passholder preview and regular guests it was crazy.

It was kinda strange though, I asked a CM if the parade started at Main Street or Frontierland becuase Im too young to remember, and they told me "If there is a parade, we dont even know if its gonna happen" and then another one added " Wink Wink" so I guesse they really were keeping it a secret from the non passholders.

Always up for the classics and changing things "back to the way they were"... I still prefer spectromagic and wishes. I was there Saturday night and was left wanting more, or at least expecting more. Spectromagic just seemed better to me.

The 180 fireworks were great...but the only time I felt "attached" to the fireworks was during the POTC sountrack. Wishes has much more emotion attached to it.

Just my opinion.

I just watched the video posted and being a long time fan of the Main Street Electrical Parade I have to say I am not happy with the new soundtrack. I dont like the tink float because shes supposed to be small but I dont mind the pixie dust across the entire parade. I guess I'm just old school. I want the blue fairy and the circus floats back. i was never a fan of the pleasure island one.

Youll get used to it. I was at DCA when it premiered and I absolutely hated it. Now I love it :D just takes some time to get use to it. I also never liked the Pleasure Island float. It looks too cluttered. Maybe it will get some updates when it returns back to DLR.

Yes, but I preferred the Pinocchio floats the other way around. Great video! I pray that this sticks around long enough for my trip next year.

I hear you on all of these accounts, but I've warmed up a bit to the new soundtrack (since we really have no hope of ever having Don Dorsey's original soundtrack coming back). They should have kept the Blue Fairy to lead the Pinocchio units, though I don't mind the Pleasure Island floats. But my all-time favorite float is gone: Dumbo's Circus!!! I miss hearing that silly little calliope part where King Leonidas plays the organ and Dumbo dances....maybe someday, right?

I don't want to bad-mouth the MSEP though, it's still amazing and it looks better than ever.

I will say though that the Jack Wagner announcement at the start of the parade almost makes up for the lack of original music and the "Disney's" on the bass drum :)

So besides it being insanely humid yesterday, the crowd levels were great. We got out to WDW around 4pm and went right for DHS, walked to the entrance and checked out the tips board, wait for ToT was 40 mins, but when we got to the tower the wait was only 13 minutes! Got in and out of DHS in about 35 mins.

MSEP was fantastic, and again, the crowds weren't bad at all, we had dinner at Cosmic Rays around 5:45 and about half of the tables were open. We grabbed a spot for the parade around 7:30ish. Had someone ask us to move over alittle about 20 minutes before the parade and we respectfully said no :)D). The parade definitely has more of an open feel running through DCA, but I also wasn't sweating when I watched it there in December either...it's kind of a gross feeling dripping with sweat while you're doing nothing but watching a parade! The only issue with the first run of the parade was the bumble bee from the Alice set broke down right as it got to the main entrance of the emporium. It was nice seeing the parade run down Main Street this time!

Does anyone else have a problem with the Pixie Hollow float coming BEFORE the drum float????

I agree with the fireworks. It really gained momemtum during the Pirates theme, and the attack on the castle is a great effect, but the rest of the show just didn't work for me and tink saving the castle seemed so rushed. The fairies fighting over the red and blues were pretty good though!

I still can't stand how MK makes us keep the center of Main Street open for foot traffic during the fireworks show! That is prime space for watching. I mentioned Disneyland's method of having the right side walk for people entering the park and the left sidewalk for people leaving to one of the Coordinator CMs but he shrugged it off and said it would never work at MK. Whatev dude.

Tinkerbell is the lead float now.

exactly...i have a big problem with that...the title float should be the main float. Right now it seems as if they stuck Tink up there to get her the hell out of the way so they rest of the parade can continue... When you hear the intro present "Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade" the first float you should see is the train and drum with the Fab 5.

I agree. I think the train should be the lead float.
I hope we are not seeing the start of another stitch type advertising where tinkerbell is going to be everywhere in her pixie hollow outfit.

But the drum has never been in the lead. Before Tink lead the parade, the Blue Fairy did.

That's what I thought.
I gotta say though, I'm nowhere near a Tink fan, I don't get the obsession with the character, but I LOVE the pixie dust effect.
