Having taken friends for first visits, I truly understand the desire for it to be as perfect as possible. When we took a friend a few years ago, we hyped Expedition Everest. Talked about how cool it was, etc. We made it sound so important to us that our friend didn't have the heart to tell us she was scared to death of roller coasters. She rode it on her first day. She sobbed for 30 minutes afterward and went back to the resort for a 3 hour nap. We now refer to it as the "Ride that broke K." The next day, she went back to the parks, experienced them her way, and had the most amazing time and is a huge Disney fan.
We can't take others with the mind that they'll see the parks the way we see them. They'll experience them the way they like them. Leaving room for that is what makes a magical trip.
Likewise, Walt said the parks would be forever evolving and changing. Yeah, it sucks when something important to us goes away, but dozens of other awesome opportunities remain. For a newbie, it can all be pure magic.
As for RoL - Disney got caught by surprise on that one, for whatever reason. Kudos to them that they at least got a temporary show in place to offer something (whatever one's opinion of the show is). That couldn't have been cheap to do on short notice. Yeah, it's gone - but that does hopefully mean RoL is soon to debut. If not - just enjoy the rest. If you and yours are such Disney fans, no way this could be the last trip
As the song says, "More to do than could ever be done . . ."
Thanks for making me feel a little better, and I know DD an I will be back just dont know about BF.
