UPDATE: Disneyland has officially announced the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade in 2022 for the parade's 50th anniversary.

Original post below:

According to the-site-that-shall-not-be-named, rehearsals are underway for Main Street Electrical Parade and A Christmas Fantasy Parade to return this holiday season.

Disneyland Resort is reportedly conducting rehearsals for both the Main Street Electrical Parade and A Christmas Fantasy Parade. This is a strong indicator that parades will return to Disneyland in the near future.

This aligns with other signs we’ve reported, such as the testing of parade floats in character cavalcades. It also should be noted that parades are returning to Walt Disney World this year during the Disney Very Merriest After Hours event.

At this time, Disney has not confirmed any parades for Disneyland. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

This poor parade will never get a proper retirement (will be turning 50 next year). Even the parade's logo is screaming to be put to death!

At this point this image is screaming to become a meme temple referring to it's old age. It could come in handy on this site if Disney ever announces on MSEP returning to DL for the gazillionth time.

Don't forget this image of the second half of the Pleasure Island float that sadly didn't survive it's long trip back to DL from WDW.

Even it's overseas cousin is laughing at it. Let that parade carry's Main Street Electrical Parade's legacy to another generation.

It doesn't seem that neither park have the attendance to justify having parades or nighttime shows. Most of the crowds are still busy eating up shorter lines.

Of course that changes when you bring back APs, but if you are discounting admission to get people in, why bring back entertainment?

I could definitely see bringing back the parades for special ticketed events.

Christmas parade will be back this year, but rehearsals have not started. MSEP will return next year for its 50th.

Oh Gawd. Why?!? Do they not know how hokey and tired and chintzy the MSEP is?

The Christmas Parade I'm not that worked up over. It's only around for six weeks, a few key floats were replaced/refreshed in the last decade, and honestly how else do you reinvent Christmas?

But MSEP? It's just painful.

Where exactly is Paint The Night??? That parade was much more appropriate for this century than MSEP is.

I think its the most iconic of all Disney parades. can you explain why you feel the way you do about it?
