First Look at the New Grand Finale in the ‘Main Street Electrical Parade,’ Debuting April 22 at Disneyland Park

Inspired by both the original design of classic “Main Street Electrical Parade” floats and Disney Legend Mary Blair’s iconic art style on “it’s a small world,” the new grand finale brings together more than a dozen Disney Animation and Pixar stories. These stories are interpreted in thousands of sparkling lights and electro-synthe-magnetic musical sound, with unique representations of beloved characters as animated dolls.

Nice that the finale has a nod to The Blue Fairy's original role of leading the parade.

I’m going to need those popcorn buckets. Especially the Elliot one. Don’t judge me.

I regret not getting the Olszewski Main Street Electrical Parade set when it was out like 7 or so years ago.

But also, I have boxes and boxes of Disneyland memorabilia I'm not sure what I'm going to do with. My affinity for the place is not what it was two years ago, and at this rate I'm not sure I'm gonna want a room in my home 'Disneyfied'.

Any idea how long the MSEP will hang around?

At this rate, forever.

I'll never forget back in 2019 when Galaxy's Edge under performed. In an attempt to draw crowds to the park, TDA elected to revive the MSEP again. I went to a seminar at TDA and someone asked why they brought back the parade, and that was the exact reason given.

That's right... to get people to go to Disneyland the year Star Wars Land opened Disney had to bring back a 50 year old parade.

I think it speaks volumes to the love people have for classic Disneyland. And also for the complete ineptitude of modern WDI.

If TDA doesn't have any plans to bring back PTN, They can atleast update the floats with new design, Since they've already started with the bacon float and Drum 50th tag.
and an updated soundtrack with the likes of Dreamlights, Is it too much for them to ask.

I mean we dont even know when Magic happens will make a come back again, since they just removed The videos relating to Magic happens parade.

DL's handling of PTN, now MH concerns me........MSEP Looks Fantastic!!!! But DL can't bring MH back to Daytime? Or give PTN to another Park if DLR doesn't want it??????

I had quite a few chances to purchase it and I always passed. Something about the pedestal they sit on. It just wasn’t a slam dunk for the price it was listed. With that said, if it was around today I would most likely buy it. It’s been slim pickins at Disneyana for a while.

I hear that! Space is also a contributing factor to why I’m buying less merch but I’ll always make room for a must have item. Most of our stuff is in the closet. I have one display case in the family room that’s mixed with non Disney stuff, one shelf of a book shelf devoted to random Disneyland collectibles and our fridge full of Disneyland magnets. The side of our fridge is pretty much the only place in the house someone would walk in and think we re Disneyland nuts.

Oh ya the Enchanted Tiki Room poster in the kitchen too.

Honestly!!!! Crazy isn't it! All of us Disney Fans should know MSEP started in DL 1972!
It’s bizzarre that it has to be explained. Part of the disconnect is due to the parade’s 50th coinciding with WDW’s 50th.

I know that fans are desperate for a nighttime parade. Hopefully one is on the horizon.

Me honestly having to explain to WDW fans on the internet why Disneyland’s Main Street Electrical Parade is celebrating its 50th anniversary at…well, Disneyland:

No, I totally get it. I actually have been to DLR more times than WDW.

I'll start thinking reason has a part in this when someone explains to me why it was OK for WDW to offer next to nothing for such a big anniversary (witness what they did for DLR's 60th anniversary for textbook on how to do that well).

Blame WDW’s management. They think what’s currently being offered for the resort’s 50th is good enough.
