Main Street Bakery Changes..

Because Earl isn't in a park.
Read the many threads on this. Sponsors have been in Disney parks since the beginning. So go across the street and get something at Coca-Cola Casey's and while eating it look at the bakery and think of the time when it was Sara Lee. And then everyone, walk through the parks and see how many sponsors you can find. Oh look, Dole in Adventureland. Lots of them. Time to put that objection to bed.

This is exactly what I was trying to say. (Although I guess not very well.) Starbucks is here, nothing we can do about it, let's move on. :)

We always stop when we are at MK. We'd go for breakfast and stop for an afternoon treat or maybe a bedtime snack on the way out. But with nowhere to sit but down the block around the corner and outside I'm pretty sure we won't be stopping ever. Where does one find breakfast (cs) in MK now? Don't like the waffles at Sleepy Hollow and I don't want a cinnamon roll. I guess I'm not a fan of sweets for breakfast (the family is) I always got the ham, egg and cheese croissant. Yum!

Not a fan of the coffee either! I will probably just walk in and take a look around. I will be eating a cinnamon roll at Gaston's. That's a guarantee.
I am a big Starbucks fan but I always took a vacation from it until I got to the airport on the way home. I am extremely disappointed about the changes. I loved the cinnamon rolls at the bakery. I thought that the ones at Gaston's would fill that hole. They didn't. They were cold, dry and you couldn't get extra icing. I now opt for the Nutella waffle at Sleepy Hollow.

I find this disappointing if they're not the same. They were one of my favourite treats in the Magic Kingdom. Guess I'll just have to have two ice cream waffle baskets from the parlour instead! But come on Disney... get the act together!

I'm not a coffee drinker so I could not care less about Starbucks. My mom and I ate at the Bakery a couple of times on our trip last year, but seriously doubt that we'll even bother going in to look at the menu when we go back this year since they have removed the cinnamon rolls and the other pastries that we enjoyed so much. Yes, we could go to Gaston's Tavern for the cinnamon rolls, but I've heard they're not the same, and she's not really a big cinnamon roll fan, so she really enjoyed the large selection at the former Bakery. I'm really bummed :(

WOW, That was one of our best traditions was to grab a quick jumbo cinnamon roll and then head out into the park. I just hope Gaston's rolls are the same!!!!:(

We need time for things to happen.
Looks like a coffee upgrade accompanied by a food downgrade. Crowd flow upgrade created by taking away places to sit. Your opinion will depend on how important each factor is to you.

Yeah this!

Definitely a coffee upgrade. I'm usually a coffee deep before I get to parks as I have my cup (or 2) in the room while I'm rustling the crew awake. However I will indulge 'in park' now that we have "real" coffee in the parks.

I'll miss the cinnamon buns on MSUSA but I will pass my over all judgement until I see it with my own lookers.

Okay, I was 50/50 on this issue until I went there this past week.

First, I wasnt okay with Starbucks coming to Main Street. My kids loved the baked goods they had in the MS Bakery. Starbucks can not compete with that.

Second, However- Starbucks is a big improvement on the coffee choices in the park. Whether you are a fan of their coffee or not- you have to admit it is an upgrade. We are trying to compete against Universal and I would rather have Starbucks in our park then theirs.

Third, Disney has always had corporate sponsors in their parks. When Disneyland opened there was "chain" sponsors from Aunt Jemina Pancake House, Sunkist Citrus house, and Carnation Ice Cream Parlor.

So when we went this past Monday during a heavy storm that rolled in..I was mixed. I think they did a great job making it tie in with MainStreet and not looking like a STARBUCKS. My daughters were very happy to get their hot chocolate & I was please to get my mocca. This is an upgrade and we have to think of it that way.

Good Morning All. As I looked at photos of one of my beloved eateries in today's food blog,it brought a heavy heart..Now I've nothing against Starbucks but the missing freshly made warm cinnamon rolls, and the removal of the seats inside is a big mistake,IMHO.But what are your opinions on the alterations.? Have any of you been since the changes have taken part.?;)

Don't get me wrong, I love some "all my bucks" but to me, its not the end all be all of coffee. Actually, if you get a plain cup of coffee, it usually tastes bitter/burnt. But I like the specialty drinks. I have to say, If I could stroll down Main Street in the fall with a pumpkin spice latte, I would be the happiest girl in the world! My two faves coming together. My head might explode. So yes, I like the idea of being able to get specialty drinks. But I don't go to Disney to get Starbucks. For the most part, I would appreciate the seating and cinnamon rolls.
