Wow, the hits just keep on coming for DLP. Are those buildings still open to guests? I'd imagine not but just wondering.

Guys, if water was leaking underneath the street compromising the structural integrity of the buildings, safety nets wouldn't help much. I think they put them on cause some part of the decord could have fell off. Like in the first picture, at the right of the "1883". It's bad, but is not *structurally* bad.

I think that's a temp fix until they can fix those structures the cages are around. I don't think MS is going to collapse.

I get the feeling these horrible nets going up everywhere is a safety precaution after a piece of the roof fell off Space Mountain's building. Maybe there is more to it than that but I doubt it's due to the entire structures being unsafe due to water getting in underneath. Surely the buildings would be roped off so guests can't access them or go anywhere near them if that really is the case? Not just some netting covering some areas of roofing.

And yet a roof in Adventureland got replaced and a bridge there is being resurfaced too. DLP is still playing catch up to years of maintenance delays and because of that it still seems like two steps back for every step forward.

That's exactly what they are for. All the old buildings around Britain have them to stop birds roosting and repainting the buildings.

Indeed. It's uncommon NOT to see ornate buildings in the UK with netting around the more detailed areas.

In the Uk we have loads of this netting to keep birds from getting in but normally what happens is they get underneath and cant get back out again

I feel much better about this explanation. When I just saw this I thought it was their way of keeping falling parts of the building from hitting people. The same way they put up the nets under the tree of life at Ak.

Nah....only Team Disney Orlando is THAT cheap.
However, there should be a change coming soon to change that attitude.
