You know, you keep bringing that up.... I'm an oppressed person here.... My rights are being trampled by a corporate giant, and you, Steve, are aiding and abetting... :( You know I insist on using Netscape until I run out of option.... :mad: But I don't think Tramp is....

The fact remains that Netscape is becoming a minority browser, and is not tested for compatibility with a lot of applications.

By using Netscape, you are supporting the corporate giant and enemy of the mouse!!!! AOL-Time Warner :) So by using Netscape dont think you are not helping a giant in some way!

For maximum possible compatibility with this site, I would suggest using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, which you can download from www.microsoft.com/ie

I do not carry out any testing on either this forum, or the main site, with Netscape, so I really dont know if there are issues - there may well be.

From the statistics, I do know that around 92% of visitors to the site use Explorer, so I really cannot afford the time it would take to support the minority of Netscape users.

I don't care about helping other corporations--it's Microsoft that scares me... I've had dealings with them.... wicked... ;)

Also, perhaps the total number of users who have netscape is small, but since Marcia and I both use Netscape, that means that the percentage of users according to time spent on the boards has to be higher... ;)

That's okay, I don't mind being made a martyr... ;)

The percentage of Netscape users is derived from the number of pages accessed with a particular browser. So that takes into account usage, not number of users with a particular browser. So you and Marcia arent viewing enough pages to increase your percentage over the Microsoft boys and girls!!! ;)

Steve, the same has happened to me but not as often as it has for mightyduck, marcia and the others. It seems to happen when I'm on the screen "View New Posts". I use Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 here at work.

Okay Steve, It just happened.

I was in Chit-Chat repling to a post. Once I submitted the post and the system took me there I clicked on WDWMagic Forums. Once the page finished loading, I went to the bottom of the screen and it showed I had 1 new unread message and I never received a pop-up notification.

Now I understand why I got 5 emails, which was the original question. Now I won't worry about it anymore!

I will continue to use my netscape for reading the boards; I only use explorer in the chat room, and it drives me CRAZY!! It keeps clicking at me! I have too many bookmarks on Netscape to change over for only 1 forum :p So there!!;) I will change if and when I am forced to, but not before!!

Hi,

Having a new message doesn't mean you'll get a popup -- you'll only get a popup on your first page view after the PM is sent and after the page has finished loading.

It is possible depending on excatly when the PM arrived, that it missed the point where it could do a PopUp on that page load.

If it happenens again, hit REFRESH in your browser and see if that does anything.

Also if you can, upgrade from IE4 to IE6.

Hi Marica,
You are very welcome to remain using Netscape..... all I am saying is that to minimize problems, and to maximise performance, I make the recommendation that everyone uses IE6. :)
