Magical Express Question

Hi Everyone -

VERY Long time reader/member, first time poster.

I am going to be using Magical Express for the first time in a few weeks and have a couple of questions. I usually drive to WDW; this is my first time flying.

1. I booked ME when i booked my hotel, but I am the only person on the reservation that is actually using ME. My other 3 friends that I am going with (and are on the reservation) will be driving. Do I have to let ME know that I am the only one of the 4 of us actually using the bus.

2. My friends may take my bag in their car with them when they leave. So I may just have my carry on with me. I am also supposed to be meeting my friends at Epcot once I get to WDW. Am I able to ask ME if I can be dropped off at a hotel that I am not staying at? My reservation is for the All Stars, but for sake of time in getting to Epcot, would I be able to ask to go to like the beach club so I can just walk to the park?

Thanks in advance for your answers! I'm looking forward to being a part of WDWMagic!

The luggage is not a problem just make sure not to place the yellow tag that DME sent you or the luggage will not make it to the carousel for your friends to retrieve.
As for the spot the bus drops you off at it will only drop you off at the hotel that you are booked into. Therefore you have no choice but to be dropped off a the All-stars

Hi there, GIve Disney a call, they can adjust your DME reservation so it is just you, without affecting your room reservations. I understand that your friends are taking your bag with them in the car so the yellow tag wouldnt matter as it isnt going on the plane with you. If it is going on the plane with you, but you dont want Disney to deliver it to your hotel room, DONT put the yellow tag on your luggage. If you'd prefer to let Disney handle it, check the bag in with your airline but put the yellow tag on your bags and it will be taken care of for you.
As far as being dropped off at a different resort unfortunately they cant do that, but will drop you off at your resort. If you dont feel like checking in at that time, you can certainly leave your carry on bag with Bell Services at the front of the resort and hop the first bus to EPCOT so you dont have to carry it around with you. I typically will pack a change of clothes in my carry on so I can switch into shorts and be more comfortable in the parks as it is typically a little colder up here in NYC. Have a great time! Marie

In theory, the DME buses stop at multiple resorts [up to four different ones on any trip]. If the bus you get loaded on happens to include a stop at an EPCOT resort on the way, there's nothing stopping you from getting off early [or probably staying on if the EPCOT resort stop is after yours, though technically trickier].

But that's virtually a luck-of-the-draw scenario...

Excellent point. Totally luck of the draw.

I'm pretty sure that the All-Star DME buses only go to the three All-Star resorts. Could be wrong but that's what I remember from when I used DME while staying there. Just to not get your hopes up. Of course it's possible, but not likely.

It doesn't work that way. There's no such thing as pre-set grouping of resorts or pre-set route. There are some groupings that commonly occur, but NOTHING is set in stone. It ALL depends on the reservations data ... in advance, Disney knows about how many people are going to which resorts at about what times, and they make the most efficient bus groupings based on that info. A bus grouping at exists today at 9:00 a.m. could change at 10:00 a.m. or so if they expect a different pattern of people going to various resorts.

So anything is possible. What IS unlikely is happening to get on a bus that just happens to also be going where you want to go.

On my very first DME bus ride, by the way ... the bus stopped at Caribbean Beach Resort, then Animal Kingdom Lodge, then ONE of the All-Star resorts.

Every time I've stayed at one of the All-Star resorts, DME has stopped at Coronado Springs.
