Thanks Boo. I guess I already knew the answer to the question about the complaints.

Thanks for the info on the mortars. Kinda neat how something can produce so much power and sound and not damage anything.

it is certainly a rarity for Tink to be seen played by a person--very cool.

As for the princess part being "boring," in Disney's defense, this is called the Pirates and Princesses Party. The princesses have to get half, and unfortunately, characters like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty do not lend themselves to loud, massive explosions all over the park. It would be a bit jarring to have music from Cinderella playing while pyro is exploding on the Castle. Instead, they went with soft music and I think the pyrotechnics match the music. They have some cool new shapes in the fireworks and I still find it to be very pretty. It utilizes the low level pyro effectively and I really like the orchestrations that they used. Princesses just aren't all that exciting.

I don't think it's about making it more exciting but rather how to make it more visually stimulating during the Princess segments. You don't have to have loud booms, just lots of colorful pretty effects that lend to the music. watch all the princess portions of the normal Wishes and Hong Kong's Disney in the Stars and you'll see how "beautiful" the princess segments could have been

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree...I'm not that fond of the princess sections in Wishes and I like almost nothing about Disney in the Stars...

Give me Believe...There's Magic in the Stars any day...

Where not to see this...

We made the TERRIBLE mistake of being behind the castle for the fireworks. We got stuck on a ride in fantasy land too close to the show. As a result of the scope of the area where they shoot off the fireworks from, we could not go around the castle at all but would have had to go all the way around tomorrowland or back out through frontierland to main street. We only had 5 minutes so decided to hole up by Areil's Grotto. BIG MISTAKE.

PLEASE PLEASE SEE THIS FROM MAIN STREET. I was so dissapointed as this was the whole reason the I wanted to go to this party.

Show Director - Chris Oyen
Fireworks Designer - Brad Ciccotti

Brad has also designed the Holiday Tag to ROE, as well as NYE & 4th for Epcot , PI and the Studios.

Hmm...I haven't heard of either of those people. Regardless, Brad has done an AMAZING job again, just like he did for the NYE & 4th shows. Now if only we could get some of his work over here on the West Coast. :D

Boo do you know Brad personally, because based on his credits he sounds like a laidback guy who loves to play with big toys. And I mean that as compliment. He's done all of my favorite shows!

Yes I do, Brad is really a cool guy. He use to be a tech so he remembers his roots. A very talented guy.
