Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland Dance Party to feature The Incredibles

Nope. It has a solid time-frame.

Elastigirl's file in Syndrome's computer lists a "Last Active Date" of November 13th, 1955, which puts the prologue around there. Add 15 years later for the film's present (with a little fudge room as a possibility between the wedding and Helen's retirement) and that gives you 1969-1970

I've been getting waaay too many Tumblr notes on this ever since I put it up on my blog.
No it doesn't. It lists it as "13.11.55" so it could be Nov 13, 2055 :p
Which makes more sense to me. Plus it's a closer date to today than 1955. 42 years vs. 58 years
For what it's worth, Whoopi Goldberg was born that day.

Oh and this happened, after a certain McFly received a certain letter...

Look at all the city's architecture and the Incredibles's furniture, it's 60s as hell. Plus the score is a complete ripoff of 60s James Bond movies. Incredibles is a period piece, much like Justice League: The New Frontier or, what it's commonly compared to, Watchmen.

Fashion is cyclical. I see 60's idealism being reinvented in a lot of modern styles.

However, to argue about a cartoon's realism is ironic.

There's retro trends coming back and then there's hipsters becoming the dominant species of the planet.

Incredibles is a movie that embodies the science fiction of the time period it is set in: The Comic Books of the Golden/Silver Age and the spy genre. Similarly, the criticisms against the movie being objectivist propaganda (when in all honesty it's not because if the supers were Randian, they'd be running the planet) can also have roots in the views of comic book writers of the time like Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko.

And you know, science fiction movies set in the 50s and 60s are kinda Brad Bird's thing considering The Iron Giant and it's Cold War paranoia themes or the entire set-up of his Tomorrowland movie.

It's an odd choice given the length of time since the film came out. Thought the same thing when MB box arrived, though the message was painfully obvious -- "Your vacation will be Incredible!". A little silly but good marketing. I always wanted a sequel to this film, here is hoping this is a test balloon for that. But most likely it's the fact they have not a clue what to put in these empty spaces* -- the Tomorrowland stages have always had some pretty bizarre shows!

PS - No Violet or Dash or the baby in the show? C'mon TDO put the whole family on the stage! :)
Maybe their plan is to pick 3 kids from the audience and dress them up as "Incredi-kids"? It could happen...

*that costs less than .000000001% of the parks budget

Apparently it's still popular with children. That's why Incredibles got into Disney Infinity.

Yeah, the thing about the Incredibles is not just about being special, it's about being special AND moral. There's a reason why Mirage does her face turn in the movie; it's because Mr. Incredible demonstrates that strength comes not from your abilities, but from your ethics.

After viewing the new dance party, I was completely underwhelmed by the lack of unity and flow that it had....as least with Goofy and Stitch, everything made sense and they had a routine and they involved the park guests--tonight was ridiculous and the characters had no clue what to do....it needs to go....

Were the characters out two or three at a time?

I wish they would actually put a real show on the that stage they put the time and money into building. Maybe they could have attempted to rework the Stitch show that was there instead of shuttering it after what a month? But they seem fine using it for dance parties I guess.

Bring back Club 626. The music at least had more variety. The painfully named #(Hashtag)IncrediblesSuperDanceParty only has Mr. Incredible, ElastaGirl, and Fro-Zone. Edna Mode appears on screen as a picture and voice, but that's it. Reoccurring songs include Ice Ice Baby & Freeze Frame for Fro-Zone as well as Holding Out for a Hero by Bonnie Tyler for the "Superhero Shuffle". The "story" is very loose and repeats every hour if not less. The other music is very similar to what Club 626 played, but at times it feels louder. Club 626 was around for years, but only a month of #IncrediblesSuperDanceParty and I'm ready for something new.
