We find the park to be much better early/rope drop/EMH. If your group is willing to hit the park as soon as it opens I would lean toward Thurs. Park doesn't usually get crazy till 11-12 and you can use your fast passes in the afternoon- or just take a break, nap, pool. Have a great trip!

right, but all three threads you started show up within a couple of lines of each other. people will answer if they want to and won't if they don't want to. starting multiple identical threads won't change that.

This.

In fact, some might be less likely to respond at all if they get annoyed by the repetition of it. A better way to make sure your thread is seen is to respond to the other posts every now and then, even just to say "thanks" or to contribute your thoughts to their ideas. That way your topic gets more thoroughly discussed and the thread gets bumped back to the top of the list. No need to say the same thing three times.

MK is probably red because it has EMH that day. In my experience, the crowd predictors automatically increase the expected crowd level for the day when there are EMH. Usually people don't take advantage of morning EMH like they do evening EMH. So, if you're an early riser, get there at rope drop with the morning EMH. Note though that on days with morning EMH, MK does not do the opening ceremony.

Interesting. I figured it would be more of a toss up. My assumption was that families with little ones would be more likely to do morning EMH's, while people without little kids, like DH and I, are more likely to do evening ones (unless they are "morning" people, which we aren't). That's a huge generalization, obviously, but I figured that most families with young ones aren't going to want to deal with tired, cranky kids that late in the evening lol. Am I really that far off base here?

From what I've read, how effective evening EMH's are depends on which park you're in. I've read that HS isn't as much fun in evening EMH as MK is, for example, because there's simply not as much to do, so the crowds tend to not thin out as much as they do at MK. Of course, this could also be because MK's EMH keep the park open far later than HS's EMH do (at least for our dates).

In our experience, most people don't show up to the parks until around 10 am, EMH or not. A lot of families sleep in, grab breakfast at their hotels, and then don't realize that it takes a good 30 minutes at least to get to any park once you get to a bus stop or boat launch. My family is all early-risers, and we are still pushing it to get to the parks by rope drop. And, that's even taking into account that we always eat breakfast in the room (we pack bagels and cereal so that we can save the time in the restaurant and get to the parks earlier), and we never shower in the morning. We basically get up, get dressed, eat breakfast, brush our teeth and go, and its still tough to get there by rope drop.

My DH and I joke that "if we get there by rope drop, we will be rewarded!" ;)
