Magic Kingdom too crowded lately

One state I visited, businesses laid down the law, 10 cents a bag or BYOB.
$0.10 is nothing...here in Hawaii we get charged $0.25 for a paper bag. We also are taxed for any food/beverage item that is in a plastic container. I actually wish disney would charge for those plastic bags that bleed blue dye everywhere. We always bring our reusable disney bags (and buy more if they're new designs)! 😉

Ill bet Disney is real cheap compared to Hawaii. Why on earth would you want to leave paradise?

January/February have become busier periods now as its cheaper to visit. Pair that with a ridiculous amount of FL resident deals and all the major special events like cheerleading and Rock the Universe, it's become hectic.

Not too mention that the summer has become unbearable to spend outside in a park all day.

Cheaper? We got discounted tickets through an employer and 6-day hoppers were still $800/each for late February. That's the largest barrier to entry, hands down.

Cheaper relative to other dates throughout the year lol

WDW ain't cheap, but its cheaper to visit during the historical "quiet season" compared to holidays when the bulk of their attendance would show up.

WDW tried to do away with them a few years back. It did not go over well. I visited WDW during that period. We bought a shirt and our choices were: wear it, buy a $1 bag, or carry it in our hands. Option #3 doesn't work well in a theme park. We bought the bag, but the whole week we overheard MANY complaints. The idea was not popular on WDW forums either.

[Truth be told, an hour after we bought the bag, mashed the shirt down into a zippered coat pocket, then folded the bag into the other coat pocket.]

To answer OP, I visited WDW in Jan. The parks were not crowded, but the MK park hours were a bit short compared to busier times of year. That's another way WDW influences wait times.

One thing we saw all week: At park opening FoP, 7DMT, Rise/Slinky, and Remy all had LONG waits, but the rest of the rides had almost no wait until a few hours later. Universal had something similar: Hagrid's has a long wait in the early AM, but then it dropped WAY down. Still a solid wait, but nothing like the early morning. By mid-day though the waits were more evenly distributed. The price of G+ was low (AK at $17), so we didn't get it for MK or AK, and didn't miss it. (Easter week, I would buy G+ for MK and HS.)

It was nice when they transferred merchandise from the parks to your resort. Do they still do that?

"lately?" I mean, you are right overall, but crowd levels are why I stopped going years ago. (not counting my Starcruiser visit, that was a whole different dealie)

I look forward to the day (if it ever comes) when I can go back and not feel like a wee sardine.
Thats where things like the main street theater that was cancelled would be great, a massive people eater for an extended amount of time.

Well, if the prices in MDE are to be believed, there are entire months that are the same or cheaper than the end of February, and not just June-August. 🤷‍♂️
