Tell me one week this year once the Halloween and Christmas parties started, that there WEREN'T a lot of parties scheduled. We were just down last year and the number of parties was ridiculous then.
I think the number of parties per week has been pretty consistent over the years.

I think I’m receiving my karma for telling you all that you complain too much.lol

I wish MVMCP was not going on during both of the 2 nighs that we are in Disney. There isn’t any good option as to how to plan these 2 nights and 2nd morning, with or without attending a party. My fault though, it’s the only 2 days/nights that we can go to WDW.

Yep. It's been pretty consistently 4 nights a week for years.
What a vague way of putting it. Per week. Bizarre. Anyways....

Here is some fun facts for you. I went back to 2002, 15 years, made sense as a random yet roundish number...

2002 - 12
2004 - 12
2006 - 18
2008 - 18
2010 - 19
2014 - 19
2016 - 21
2017 - 21

So, not that consistent. Unless you meant consistently increasing.

I hope they reduced the number...I know we were there in mid-October of last year and it felt like there was a party every dang night. I know they step up the Christmas parties in December, too.

"Per week" would be because that's a typical length of time people visit. If you visit in early December, it likely feels the same as it did before. If you aren't there in late December when they added more dates, you aren't impacted.

It’s increased by 16% in 11 years. Hardly earth-shattering. MNSSHP, on the other hand...

Counting the total parties is more vague since the parties start earlier now than they did years ago. Counting per week is a better assessment of their impact the average guests vacation. Of course the number of parties is increasing over the years. But for many years (I didn't say forever) the parties have been running 4 days a week generally. Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday is the standard schedule but is adjusted for certain dates.

Never said it was earth shattering. But it has increased from 12 to 21 parties in the past 15 years. How big of a deal that is to you will vary. Once you start factoring in the Halloween parties the whole thing gets really ridiculous. WDW used to be the Vacation Kingodom, now it's becoming the special event kingdom. Again, mileage may vary on how that makes you feel.

No. It's not more vague. There is more days now when the park closes early for regular guests and opens up for special extra paying guests. That's a simple fact. You don't care, that's cool, no one said you have to. Enjoy the parties!

Don't forget that the Upcharge Events used to be Disney's off-peak time. It's not like they're flooding the Christmas Break or Thanksgiving Break with the upcharge events, but what was once seasonal downtime. In what used to be the downtime, MK could handle the crowds not attending the Event Nights during the non-Event days.

The fact that there isn't a seasonal downtime any more might be in part because of the draw of the upcharge events.

It is more vague when you're talking about it's impact to guests visits. I acknowledged that there are more parties now than years ago and I never said I didn't care. You're missing the point.

Yes, there are more days, because they take place over a longer period of time. There have been three or four parties a week for many years now. Starting them the first week of November is what is new.

A guest visiting for a week in December has long had to contend with 3-4 parties a week unless visiting Christmas week. Now guests in early November also have to deal with that problem:

I also noticed that it depends on when you start counting:

2002-2017 is 75% increase
2006-2017 is 16% increase

My guess is that the goal of this will be every night is a MNSSHP/MVMCP night from Sept 1st to Jan 1st with the exception of about a week after Halloween while the switchover happens, but they could cut that short, too. There's no reason why this should be included with your regular day ticket because: candy and cookies. That warrants the $100/ea upcharge.

People are willing to pay it as there doesn't appear to be any crowd limitation either natural, by customers not paying, or enforced by trying to keep the sizes small since it's an extra magical event (other than normal park limitations). More power to them.

It turns me off, though. It's why I go elsewhere, now.
