Magic Kingdom Starlight Parade Brings New Annual Passholder Park Reservation Rule

I’ve seen it elsewhere online. Internet never lies…

Plus, it aligns with their wording.
Agreed…..Seems “obvious” the change is one can’t show up to MK after 2:00 without having a Park Reservation to one of the other Three Parks, AND having tapped in already.

Added consideration is whether MK will allow entry if the Park Reservation was for one of the other three Parks, and the Reservation holder didn’t Tap in to that Park before heading over to MK.

The few times we’ve had a Reservation for Park 1, never tapped in, and went to Park 2 first, a CM has had to get someone to override the blue ring….thus happened at AK and DHS, not even MK and had to get the override…

The likelihood of getting override at MK after July 20?

its the "subject to capacity" that may be the issue with hopping.
It’s a big park. Maybe there will be an issue the first day or two but MK doesn’t reach capacity on July 4 or NYE any more. I doubt there will be much trouble here. One upside of opening in late July is no one goes to WDW in late July any more. January is more crowded!

I actually think October with 4 parties per week will be worse.

Hopefully we see two performances offered nightly. That would help spread people out.

I'm trying to figure out why Wish is represented here? Is it doing well on Disney+, it seems out of place.

Think just a different IP not used too often ( was in the DS drone show) that would work well in a light parade

I don't think especially popular but has it's fans and don't want to always use the same properties

Confirming what has already been reported: If there are no reservations for Magic Kingdom, you can park hop to Magic Kingdom after scanning into the park you have a reservation for, subject to capacity.

But you will need a reservation for one of the parks or can you enter after 2pm to, say, Epcot without a reservation and then hop to MK?

Apparently it has indeed seen success on D+. At least the premier. It was the third most-viewed streaming premier for a theatrical animated movie, behind only Encanto and Elemental. Whether it has sustained this success, I don't know.

I don't like Wish, but I do think it's a fine fit for the parade's theme. While I could come up with other Disney movies i'd have preferred to see in Starlight instead (several of which ARE represented in the parade as part of the generic "ensemble" princess floats but should have been full standalone floats instead), they could have done far worse and used something that absolutely doesn't fit at all. Even if it's a better film. Like Toy Story, Monsters Inc or Cars for instance which are often and inappropriately overused.

What doesn't make sense to me is why other much more popular princesses got demoted to generic ensamble floats. Some of which also fit well with the parade's theme. Aladdin, Snow White and Tangled in particular look pretty odd hooked onto that Mickey and friends. The princess float, while more appropriate, is also strange because again these are usually the ones most front and center. Especially Cinderella and BATB. I wonder if some of these were intended to be full floats at some point but were cut during development.

I'm also surprised that Tiana didn't finally get a standalone float this time. Not only does the movie fit very well with the theme of the parade, but you'd think they'd want to give her the spotlight given the recent circumstances.

Almost seems like the "New" Disney is no longer interested in the long time supporters. Being an Annual Passholder, you are investing in Disney. But they are more focused on the one-off customers. Sad day in Disney history. Walt would not approve.

Utter nonsense.
Great rebuttal.

As a FL resident, my ticket prices are lower. As a result, I can spend more on other things. Our dinners for two are typically $200-$300, and you won’t find us at a QS. Our lunches are $100-$200 each, more often than not.

We go and spend at least several times per year when we have an AP. We’ll pay for extra stuff - tours, experiences, etc; because we’ve done every attraction enough times. For the same reason, we don’t clog up the lines, because if an attraction is busy, we’ll just catch it next time.

Your fantasy about locals getting free stuff is bizarre.

This is equally ridiculous. You’re not paying more or being kicked out, you just have to make a reservation. They don’t want unlimited people showing up at 7pm to make the crowds too crazy. That’s very reasonable. As an AP, it’s a non-issue…unless you decide to make it one.

Fantastic news.

It doesn't go far enough, but i for one am glad there is a start on stopping the nonsensical freebie's for local annual pass holders.
