Magic Kingdom ranks as 2nd most favorite amusement park in the U.S. !

Universal's Express pass has a sweet spot where having it benefits the users but doesn't affect the standby line much. I would say about 1/3rd of the time it is like that, 1/3rd of the time you don't even need an Express pass, and the other 1/3rd of the time so many people have Express pass that not only do they wait long but it forces the standby line to be very unnecessarily long. Just like every major attraction at Disney,

I also do agree that the crowds unfortunately offset the experience at the Magic Kingdom for most visitors. At least 75% of the time, the park is an absolute madhouse. However, if you are lucky enough to catch it on a light day, the experience is euphoric with the amount of attractions to cover and things to do. Really, no other Orlando park has managed to capture the feeling of a good day at MK.

Islands of Adventure has some of the best rides in the world, but I would never classify it as the best park. Marvel, Toon Lagoon, and Seuss Landing are such ugly, grungy, concrete messes that they really bring down the rest of the park. Whereas MK's only aesthetic weak spot is Tomorrowland, but even that looks better than the aforementioned IOA lands.

More people eat at McDonald's than 5 Guys so they must have better burgers, right?

Dumb comparison. Hundreds of thousands of restaurants in the US and only a handful of major theme parks. And FYI buying a burger doesn't put nearly the same amount of money on the line as planning a theme park trip, so people will spend their money more wisely.

People eat McDonald's because it's cheap, not because it's particularly good. Both Disney and Universal are the most expensive theme parks in the world..

This right here. Any teen can do their clickity clicks on polls to force an agenda or whatever reason on mommy and daddy's computer. But when you look at attendance numbers the clear winner is exposed based on pure facts, not misguided internet polls. MK wins hands down with attendance. End of debate.
The poll wasn't for most visited though.

Attendance wouldnt be nearly as good a metric as percent change.

In Orlando now, and Disney is a much more pleasurable experience than Universal. The Express system in Universal is overused, and results in long lines on many attractions. FastPass+ works extremely well in comparison.

The atmosphere in Disney trumps Universal in a big way as well. My friend equated Universal to an "upscale Six Flags" in atmosphere.

...I just had the Boy Wonder analyze it on the Bat Computer...and he has confirmed that this is - in fact - 100% wrong.

That is incorrect...Disney’s attendance is driven by 100 years of IP reputation and 60 years of park reputation...

But here’s an angle that does matter. There has always been a certain percentage of people who are “done with it” after one go. Lots of reasons but top two are economics and “personal tastes”...I.e. not their thing.

I do wonder if that number has been higher these last 5 or so years? Or lower? Or flat?

It would be - my opinion - an interesting case study.

I am really surprised that Universal Orlando still has such a small attendance number, I feel like they have earned more. But it seems silly for them to chase a 3rd park before maximizing IoA and The Studios.

Whether you prefer Universal or Disney, I think it's important that both continue to do well. Lack of competition is where the real danger lies for we consumers!

Clearly I prefer the Disney experience right now, but I really enjoy Universal too and couldn't be more excited about Nintendo Land! It has the potential to be even bigger than Potter land, and my do the rumors/plans for the MarioKart ride not look half awesome!

So let me get this straight. You all debate for pages upon pages whether or not MK or IOA should be ranked as America's top park, yet completely overlook the true candidate deserving of such a coveted honor... Gatorland.

This is a travesty if I've ever seen one, and I refuse to take part in such a biased conversation by people so blind to the truth. I bid you all good day.
