Magic Kingdom EMH days being cut back

One Little Spark...
To put this in perspective, the total # of Magic Kingdom EMH hours between June-August were as follows:
2011: 103
2012: 76
2013: 41

By comparison regular MK park hours between June-August were as follows:
2011: 1330
2012: 1273
2013: 1297

If park attendance is up, why would they follow this trend? Doesn't that needlessly crowd the parks?

They are counting on MM+ to maximize the utilization of existing capacity during regular park hours so everything always has a wait.

They are counting on these labor savings to offset the $2B.

I'm sorry, but to keep me on property for my whole vacay I will need more EMH time. Now, I do not mind them tweaking the hours if it fixes problems like EMH at MK until 1 or 2 am one day, and then the only EMH morning time at DAK the next day. The reduction of hours overall can be tolerated to a point, but after that the system could work regardless of cost cutting measures without eliminating the perk.

Of course they're weaning. They're going to make the FP thing for hotel guests, so they don't need EMH, which wasn't a big perk, anyway.

Maybe they'll have an e-ride night. We can hope, lol.

Somehow I think this isn't going to work near as well as they expect it to... Has anything like this EVER gone as well as planned as the "statistical models" predict? They depend on people performing in an exactly predictable manner and while it is true, people are creatures of habit, sometimes people perform differently. Not to mention, it isn't like the most popular rides are going to stop being the most popular rides just because they are trying to force people to go to the less popular ones. People will continue to migrate back to them.

Good news everyone! They extended park hours tonight, now the MK will be open till midnight the week before the Fourth of July. How many more hours are left to makeup now?

We use the Morning EMH's for each and every park. Early risers and like to get in before the heat really kicks in. We use the evening EMH's frequently but not every single night. EMH's is one of the reasons we stay on property. After all these changes...I can honestly say the magic is wearing thin and we might be off property and splitting our time between WDW and "the other" parks for future trips.

You can say "Uni." :D

And if you go there, stay there. Unlike Disney, staying at Uni is soooo worth it. :)

fly on the wall in TDO meeting...

How can we increase spending in the parks?

By decreasing hours in the parks?

Give yourself a raise!

fly races to exit, hits a glass window and dies.

Who cares about EMH.

Keep the MK open for all guests until 1 am, every day. Like they used to do before EMH.

EMH are not an extention of operating hours, but a reduction in the reduction of operating hours. ('Let's close Splash on week days, then open it for two hours and sell that it as 'exlusive extra Splash operating hours for onsite guests, every day between 1 and 3 pm')
