If only WDW stuck to the original plan of having MSEP run for one summer. Since Spectromagic was planned to have a major refurbishment before getting badly damaged.

And at one point, WDW used to have three parades (Not counting the nighttime parade) running daily for MK,AK, and Epcot back in the early 2000's.

WDW used to have a lot of things, now all they have is the latest round of budget cuts, Yet the crowds continue to come,

In other words....Screw the artists! All hail the bean counters! Gotcha ;)

Seriously, you do realize this land was heavily VALUE-ENGINEERED as reported by Marni? (HINT: It wasn't done by concept artists)

Yeah, but, seriously, you can't have guests walking under a rollercoaster where they can get beaned by a cellphone from above. That design would have led to a lot of unsightly netting.

Also, as neat as it was to go down in a trench by Andy, well, you lose all the sightseeing that a bare rollercoaster normally provides. It's not like there were going to be giant AA ants in the trenches to look at.

Also, Phil from accounting isn't running into the Imagineers' cubicles demanding cuts.

As much as i typically agree with you, i feel you are being too lenient of the cuts being made. I, along with what i believe are most on here, would prefer a themed set of stores over nothing. While i totally understand why guest shouldn't go under the tracks of the vehicle (those nets look bad) the trenches that were lost surely don't add to the ride theme. They were genuine losses. IMO you should pick your battles. Toy Story Land went skimp, plain and simple. I just hope it's worth it when star wars land goes online.

I agree. Sort of. I think what we are left with is not up to the standards we should expect. However, personally i don’t think the trenches would have made for a good ride experience.

Hasn't @marni1971 said this was an artist inserted design for flourish and was never an actual proposal?

So, people agree that people shouldn't be under a bare coaster and that the trenches don't make for a good show and Martin says the 'shops' were not part of the original proposal.

So, what again did they cheap out on? Not making the coaster an indoor coaster from the get-go?

IMO, what's really missing is the opportunity for a playground and splash pad themed to Toy Story.

They didn't build the Monsters, INC coaster.

That would've been a treat.

When they said "Happiest Celebration", they weren't kidding and really meant it.
yeah but they are trashing Disney sea. They have inserted so much IP (even having characters on the boats that go around the park) that they've almost killed it.

I walk under here multiple times and die everytime.

And I can't even believe they just built this death machine that crosses over guests multiple times but only has one net! And in a place that isn't directly over people!

I think thats the big thing missing from DHS for younger kids after the removal of the HISTK playset. They need that play area for the youngest kids who just want to run around and have some good old fashioned fun.

I agree that was a good feature that allowed them to run around and they seemed to love it. Which now the park lacks, but Disney probably doesn't want too many play areas like that thanks to bean counters and lawyers running everything worried about a lawsuit from a kid falling etc etc. The park lacks (and always has) a classic family dark ride, like monsters inc in cali, something on that scope and level.

I'm happy that you're happy with Toy Story Land.

IMO it's a garbage land like the other TSL's around the globe that takes up WAYYYYYY too much space @ 11 acres, costing a STUPID amount of money at 9 figures for what you're getting, a minimally themed kiddie coaster & flat ride without a new proper E-ticket attraction the land deserved.

I know Disney fans like to thumb their nose & poke fun at Six Flags, but I'm looking at Six Flags Magic Mountain with their latest attraction, Justice League: Battle for Metropolis and I'm like, HELL I rather ride that than Slinky Dog Coaster & Alien Swirling Saucers!

That's funny because when I went last year I got the Flash Pass and rode over 20 RIDES in 1 day with 0 WAIT TIME and ate at a table service restaurant with good food. If you love thrills, there is no better place to have a good time. Oh & by the way...
