Paint the Night fits in Magic Kingdom, save for Mack. Probably options to replace him though. The primary issue with WDW is how they treat parades, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the climate. The techs in Florida just aren’t as good as the ones in California, and it’s not really their fault. It’s that they are underpaid and don’t get the maintenance money to keep the floats up to snuff. California was disappointed in the condition that MSEP was in when it returned to CA after it was in FL. They just don’t take care of things well enough in Florida. That makes CA’s management hesitant to send a parade to FL. However, PtN is notoriously expensive to run. It’s not a cheap parade at all. We’re talking like 3x the budget to run PtN than MSEP. I’m not saying PtN isn’t coming to WDW, I’m just making some points here so some of you can see why it’s not as easy of a decision as you might like it to be.
Also consider that parades actually have time for true maintenance and upkeep at Disneyland. In Cali parades don’t run twice every single night 365 days a year. It’s quite the contrary in Florida. Taking a parade down here for even a couple weeks would be viewed as a HUGE blow to guest satisfaction.

Thing is usually, atleast with msep & spectromagic if it started raining 30 mins before showtime the floats just stand outside as they are already lined up behind mainstreet, since paint the night is basically tv screens, wouldn't rain cause more damage to it than it does to christmas lights(msep)?
Paint the night doesn’t use TV screens. It uses LED screens just like the Earth Globe, future Harmonious barges, NBA experience exterior and countless other outdoor locations all over WDW.

What about the screens that they use for the galaxy far far away show & move it shake it? Those seem to break down & glitch often.

Those are LED screens. They do occasionally have issues (doesn’t everything?), but that doesn’t stop them from using them. They also spend nearly all day out in the elements, are raised and lowered numerous times, and are on for nearly a whole day at a time.

If they are willing to leave those LED screens on and sitting out for entire days at a time on those mobile stages what makes you think they wouldn’t/couldn’t run paint the night floats in the same environment for an hour per day?

Seems like if the WDW techs and maintenance are a issue, that’s something they will need to eventually figure out. Any new parade MK gets will likely be high maintenance and not cheap to run like MSEP was.
I don’t think it would necessary for MK to continue the two performance thing like they did with MSEP and Spectro. Maybe occasionally on weekends, but I think one performance and HEA would be enough.

What I don't understand, the ones that are saying PTN won't fit in MK....how does the entire parade fit in the narrow Fantasyland pathways but not MK's entire parade route...

And I'm assuming that if a new parade ends up in MK for the 50th, during the anniversary celebration its gonna run twice a night, afterwards it'll probably go down to one.

I don't understand it either, the only place I can think of being a issue is the curve from backstage to frontierland, that might be a bit challenging for the mac unit.

Like I said earlier it’s not the entire parade. It’s just the one float- Mack that has a problem with a tight turn.

Perhaps they could rebuild or modify the Mack Truck so it can make turns easily? MK has/had long floats. Peter Pan in FoF bring one of them.

IMO MK would need different PTN floats anyway to fit in better. It’s to Pixar heavy. Great fit for DCA. And I may be the only one that feels this way but it needs a new soundtrack. “When Can We Do This Again” has nothing to do with Painting The Night. Something like HKDLs show show stop lyrics would be better.

The Mack Truck handled DL's Town Square, so should be able to fit in MK'S town square. This has gone on WAY TOO LONG!!! MK should have had a replacement at least in the works by the end of 2016!

Sorry! Not a good weekend! Hopefully we get some good news on this front soon!

It’s possible, at least I’d like to think, that they have deliberately been waiting for the 50th. Maybe for the extra budget, if there is one. All we can do is wait and see.

Town Square is not the problem area.

If Mack is truly the only problem, it’s hardly beyond Disney entertainment to cut a float. The show is quite Pixar-heavy...they could adjust the lineup if they wanted to.

I love “When Can We Do This Again,” and I always saw crowds joining in singing along. IMHO, it’s one of the best things about the parade.

I personally think they should ditch Star Wars Galactic Spectacular and put a parade like paint the night there lol. Small parade route though and it probably wouldn’t work.

It would be nice if they added a parade to DHS. It use to be nice when all the parks had parades. I know logistically it was a nightmare sometimes. However, it was fun to see the different parades.

Exactly my thought. IF the option was there to bring over one of the versions of Paint The Night, if
Mack is the only issue... the cost of building and replacing One new float vs a brand new parade? Lol. I personally rather have a brand new parade and hopefully all this talk, again, about PTN coming to MK is still false. Waiting for one of the insiders to chime in and remind us that “Paint The Night is not leaving Disneyland, or Hong Kong, and is never coming to MK” lol.

But for what it’s worth I would hate to loose Mack as that’s one of the highlights of the parade. Also, and regardless what the future holds for Paint The Night, they need to bring back (unfortunately rebuild) the Frozen float. I think the decision to cut it was a mistake especially after how well Frozen 2 was received.

Frozen was cut from DCA's PTN because of the overhead Trolley wires, correct? So it should still be intact backstage. Unless it was destroyed to use for the Incredibles PTN Float???
