hey Jenny... sounds like you are getting a facelift in your backyard. That ought to turn out real nice. I redid all my landscaping in the fall and it really makes the house look so much different and better!

Saw your reply just as I posted  Yes, we're replacing our sagging, skunk-harboring deck with a paver patio, about 12 x20. DH is looking to buy a heavy duty trimmer to attack the out-of-control weeds. I need to relocate hostas - if you need 30-50 of them ( I wish I were kidding), let me know.
As well as tons of other plants.

That is the kinda lanscaping I got rid of.. I tend to like it clean with alot of mulch and a few scattered palms and such.. course this is FL.. I don't think you can do Palms in Ohio! I like to have as few snake havens as possible.

I don't suppose you saw the debacle of a garter snake in my family room? I am absolutely terrified of snakes.

I remember that. NO THANKS.. I'd just evacuated the house, then called the Navy in for an airstrike!

We had one in our pool last weekend and took me a good hour to get it out. If it wasn't for the law about firing a weapon within 500ft of a residence.. I'd gone Arnold on him!

Good boy. :) I'm good...BUSY at work too ;)

ACK SNAKES!!!! :dazzle:

sorry to hear that.

serioulsly.... I have a real problem with live snakes!

I had that snakeaway stuff sitting in my garage. It says to put it out every 3 months. Think every DAY is more like it!

Nice to know I'm not alone! There's a reason Satan assumed the form of a serpent. :fork: :fork: I'm to the point in life where I can handle seeing a garter snake in its natural environment, as long as I'm a safe distance away. Under a pile of laundry I want to take upstairs? :dazzle: :dazzle: Thank goodness DH works local, he could come home and take care of it.
