Magic Dorks

Why would you want to do that? :lookaroun

Valid point!

Instead, I will do this:

A Los Angeles county commissioner is attempting to pass new legislation - dubbed "Britney's law" - that aims to crack down on those paparazzi that are out of control..

Well, LAPD chief William Bratton thinks that's a crock of ****.

He says:

"What we need is Britney Spears to stay home instead of traipsing all over town. That would solve the problem. We don't need additional laws…. I've got laws coming out my ears to deal with this issue.

What you have is several young women in this town and several young men basically making fools of themselves and tying up not only my resources but the resources of the media that would do better covering legitimate stories instead of a bunch of airheads running around out there….

Quite clearly some of these characters so favored by the paparazzi are clearly in need of services. Not police services, but psychiatric services."

I am so sending this guy an e-mail saying: Bravo!!!!

Well, I'm back. And checked in with Southwest now. We are section B numbers 28 and 29. This is my first time using the new system...anyone have a clue if that will be decent enough.

I don't know if I like this new system or not. It's not fair for people who don't have internet access or access to the internet right when your flight comes up. As it stands 88 people checked in before we did. And it's only been 4 hours since we were able to.

What happens on Monday when we can check in for our flight on Tuesday...we will have no access to the internet and I don't know if the Hyatt will allow us to check in like the Disney resorts would.

I never thought I'd say it, but I think I liked their old system better. And I hated all those people who sat in line like 3 hours early just to get to the front of the line.

True...very true. See your point...however, after seeing some of those shows and watching them be right up in her face, not letting people drive away, that's the stuff I think is a bit apalling with the paparazzi. Sure, she brings on a lot on her own, but I still think that they all should be afforded a little space. Not a whole lot, since they understood the lifestyle they choose, but enough to be able to get around without having huge difficulties.

Hey Nibbles! First of, just want to say have a great trip and enjoy the warm weather!

We used the new SW system when we went to WDW in December. I was waiting at the computer the day before we left, checked in at the first possible moment, and we got A group, in the teens. (18-21, I think) Coming home, I decided to have guest relations check us in. We were at MK, so I went to City Hall. A guy (on our same flight), literally hip-checked me out of the way to be in front of me to check in. It was about 5 minutes past the 24 hour window when the CM got to me, and we were in the last 10 people or so of A group. How all those other people (over 50) checked in before us, I have no idea. They must have used their cell phones. Then I realized that b/c we had kids, we could have just checked in at the airport, gotten group C, and boarded between A and B anyway. That's definitely what I'm doing next time. I think you and WHF will be fine. When we boarded at the very end of A group, the plane was only 1/3 full.

I agree with your point too, actually. They are way too close...I watched a clip of them stalking her mom when she went to visit B in hospital. I mean, the woman was at the nasty back door loading dock trying to sneak in, and they were so up on her that she finally shoved them. No one needs that, especially with today's technology...let the woman WALK for pete's sake!!!!

I think what the Chief is trying to say is that he doesn't need any more restrictions/laws...he's got enough problems trying to deal with the ones that exist.

As to SW, haven't experienced the new system. Last time we flew Em was under six so we got priority boarding. But then again, I don't mind standing in line. I grew up Catholic.

What about on our trip back? That's my biggest worry. I don't want to be the last of the Cs and not get a seat with WHF.

We'll be at MK that night...you said you checked in at Guest Relations at MK? How did you do that?

True...but I can see the point of if they don't have the law in place, then these people will continue to have to sneak into back doors, etc.

Although, I also believe that this could be a law that's pretty hard to enforce. So, it might be moot anyway.

I think you're right about the moot thing.

Moot moot moot. I love that word.

I'm starting to get the "i'm not at work" guilts.

Therefore, I will check out the photo contest.

Did you read my whole post, silly duck? On the way back, we checked in at guest relations at MK. We went to City Hall, and the CM pulled up the SW website. I gave her the confirmation number and my name, and she checked us in online. She also printed our boarding passes for us. As I said, we checked in maybe 5 minutes after the 24 hour period began, and we were one of the last "A" 's. Will you be at the park at the start of your 24 hour window? Just head to guest relations (in City Hall) as soon as humanly possible once your 24 hour window opens.

 I did....I just didn't know that they could do that at MK. It was more of a surprise.

Yes...we'll be at the parks...but our check in time is like 9:20 pm...oh...crap...just thought about it...no...we won't be there, the park closes at 8...well...pooh. Hope to God we can check in at the Hyatt when we get back to the hotel.

Or...you could just call the airline. I did that when I was in Miami, didn't have a computer with me...I wanted to upgrade so I called them and they hooked me up. If you do call don't forget to ask them what the procedure is for not having a print out. Though I see no reason that the Hyatt couldn't do it for you, I would think all the hotels offer this service these days.

Hello again - Abby got invited to a friend's for a playdate, and Joel's watching the Muppet movie. He seems a bit cooler, so yay!! :sohappy:

To heck with being cooler...:sohappy: for the Muppet Movie! I wish I could get Em to watch that!

All joking aside, I am glad he seems to be doing better. Was this not the child who played at being sick a short while ago?
