Steph, I saw you're thinking about getting a dog. Let me tell you as someone who has one that they are more work then cats. You will have to take them out to walk them (man how I wish they could be potty trained like cats! :lookaroun ) and it sucks to do it in the cold. (Trust me...and all I have to do is open the freaking door!).

On the plus side though, I couldn't imagine not having a doggie. I love mine to pieces and really do want another one when this one leaves me. Although, I'll have to find out what do to do with it during the day...don't know how I feel about crating a wee one all day while we're gone. But that's another story.

If you think a dog can fit in your lifestyle, then I say go for it. They are so wonderful to have around. And mine got along with a cat fine. It liked to play and I was always worried about the cat hurting the dog, but everything was always fine.

Thanks, Nibbs. It helps that we've basically "co-raised" our friends' dog since they got her a year and a half ago. So we know what we're getting into and think we can handle it.

And..... we just adopted him!!!! :sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

Now we just have to get him here. :dazzle::dazzle: My mom said he can stay w/ her as long as it takes to get him here, but I'm afraid that she won't want to give him up.
