The rabbit hole entrance looks pretty good, I'm surprised I really like the look of everything. I can't wait to see it at night!
Same here. I'm not waiting in anticipation for this thing, but walking through there the past two days, I quite like the look of it all!

I have to agree. For a temporary setup it's looking better than I thought it would! And this is during the day, imagine when all the lights are turned on!

New details are popping up every day here:

Let's hope the adult drinks at the Mad T Party aren't all $10+.

I was hugely disappointed by the cost of the drinks at elecTRONica.

I'm pretty confident that they'll be every bit as expensive. My guess is that pretty much everything is going to be glowing, with a $3 glow cube in the drink! :brick:

I was hugely disappointed by the cost of the drinks at elecTRONica.

I'm afraid that's inline with cocktail prices in SoCal, at least in spendy places. A Maker's Mark Manhattan in the Napa Rose Lounge is around $14.00 as I remember, and any basic cocktail with top shelf liquor is in that $12.00 to $17.00 range at upscale lounges like The Edison near Union Station in LA, or any posh lounge in OC or LA counties.

The thing with Glow Fest/elecTRONica/Mad T Party is that the cocktails are basically vodka based, usually Skyy, and then have a fructose corn syrup sweetener or sugary citrus juice accompaniment. They aren't really top shelf, nor are they particularly sophisticated drinks. They are basically vodka and sugary syrup in a glowing LED plastic glass, or a quickie mixed drink of vodka and soda in a plastic cup with a glowing LED ice-cube.

I enjoy the DCA street parties of recent years not so much for the quality of the drinks (which are aimed more at un-discerning 25 year olds than actual cocktail fans), but moreso for the overall atmosphere. If I want a good cocktail at the Disneyland Resort, I'll head to Napa Rose Lounge, Trader Sam's, or maybe Hearthstone Lounge at the Grand. Or, if I want a truly great cocktail made with artisanal ingredients and a discerning eye for proper fabrication after a Disneyland day, I'll stop by for dinner and drinks at the Haven Gastropub in Olde Town Orange. http://www.havengastropub.com/

All that said, I'm happy to admit my home bar has a small collection of glowing LED ice cubes I've collected over the past few years from fun drink-and-walks through Glow Fest or elecTRONica. A discerning palate for artisanal cocktails can only take you so far, and then you just have to roll with the kids and have some fun with cheap vodka and corn syrup.

No doubt!
I find it's easiest not to even look at my credit card statement after a trip!

:lol:Seriously! I remember one time I spent fifty bucks on food alone! The food was good but geez! I'm more careful now with the way I spend my money on food at Disneyland. There's always McDonald's across the street, or even Subway.

The blackout on the right-hand window to the arcade is absent and it's possible to see a very small part of the inside.
Mostly traditional-shaped arcade machines that are wrapped up with cardboard or something.
One thing I could see: the portion of the wall where TRON once resided is now brightly-colored much the same as the rest of the Mad T Party motif.

Crummy pics are better than no pics! Thanks wild01ride!

I really love the "Drink Me" bar.

The Disney Parks Blog gave an "idea" of the music that the band will be playing. Good to hear some of the great DJs from ElecTRONica will also be back. Also more concept art for the costumes can been seen.

Our Mad T Party band will rock out each night, their playlist overfizzing with a multitude of party favorites, both old and new. In fact, the Mad Hatter has put together a list of songs – from Bruno Mars to the Beatles … from Maroon 5 to Prince … and from Gwen Stefani to Lady Gaga! These are songs that invite you to “Just Dance“… “Raise Your Glass”…“Go Crazy”…and show off your “Moves Like Jagger!”
You won’t want to miss the fantabulous Mad T Party band as they invite everyone to join in for the most fuminous T-Time ever!!
But that’s not all! Whenever the band is offstage, some of the most popular DJs around will kick up the party with their own special brand of musical magic!
Throughout the summer, taking on the role of the “White Rabbit DJ” will be Jason Jass, Michael Paul, Adam Auburn, Mi$$y B, David Bullock and Wendy Walker!!

From DAPS Magic a great article which also has a look at the costumes for Mad T Party. I really like the DJ costume. (scroll to the bottom)

Great news to hear that they'll be giving love to the DJ's from ElecTRONica. Those guys were incredible-definitely had their fingers on the pulse of the crowd!

I'm still a little weirded-out at the theme of this whole thing, but I'll give it a fair shot (whenever it is that I get back out here).
Regardless, it is definitely QUIET in Hollywoodland since ElecTRONica went dark.
Any nighttime event will bring life to this area of the park. It was absolutely my choice for waiting out the late WoC show!

John Lasseter likes the looks of the Mad T Party too!

EDITOR’S NOTE 5/18: John Lasseter has pretty much moved to Anaheim now for the countdown to June 15th, and this week he gave the thumbs up to the Mad T Party decor and more last minute changes to Luigi's Flying Tires. The Mad T Party opens on Friday, May 25th, despite Disney's official line that it doesn't start until June. Ghirardelli opens officially on June 5th. Don't have too much ice cream though, or you'll never fit in the tiny seats of the Matterhorn's new bobsleds. - Al Lutz

Nine hundred dollars?!?! Good gosh.

Oh goody, I hope someone will post some coverage of the party tonight. I want to see how everything looks, with the music and the characters.

Mad T Party soft opened tonight ahead of its official June 15th debut. The reviews are coming in quickly and the reviews are fantastic!

Here's a great YouTube video of the first night; the DJ, the band, the bizarre slinky performer, the arcade, the bars, the costumed CM's, the decor and lighting, etc., etc.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=A-WVlVGKczs

Watching this video, I have to ask... Is there anything the Disneyland Resort can't do incredibly well now?!? Everything TDA touches lately seems to be done so fabulously, it makes me wonder how we ever got through the Paul Pressler and Cynthia Harriss years??? :ROFLOL:
