ElecTRONica is still powering up the nights at Disney California Adventure park into the spring, and soon guests will be able to experience an all-new nighttime family celebration when Mad T Party starts to stir up fun in summer 2012!
This psychedelic soiree will be filled with surprises and new takes on some familiar characters from the world of Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland.” Join us for a party like no other as you fall into the rabbit hole and land in a wild and whimsical world where up is down, this is that and nothing is what it seems. A live band, unique entertainment, fun-filled games and plenty of dancing all await guests seeking an escape into a bright and vivid alternate reality.

Throughout the Mad T Party, we will “tip our hats” to the world of Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” with wild and fabulous imagery and imagination. Familiar faces will be re-imagined in fresh, new ways, all combining to immerse guests in a captivating world that’s filled with exclusive signature foods, beverages and merchandise offerings.

So get ready to step through the rabbit hole and into Mad T Party at Disney California Adventure park, coming summer 2012!

The official Disneyland website says that the party will include "High-energy gaming including classic favorites with a Mad T Party twist" does this mean a "casino" of some sort?

It will probably be some type of arcade type game or video game. Similar to what EleTRONica currently has. I will be sad to see Flynn's go:(

Disney is holding auditions for the live band at Mad T Party-

Below are a few subtle hint at a possible opening date as well as possible songs. There is also another piece of concept art for the band.

Disney Parks Talent Casting is seeking Vocalists and Rock Instrumentalists to perform as a one-of-a-kind, five-piece band at The Mad T Party, a hip, trippy, psychedelic Mad nighttime party to be performed outdoors at Disney® California Adventure park. Guests are invited to “take a trip” down the rabbit hole as we tip our hats to Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Live music, unique entertainment, games and dancing all await guests seeking an escape into a fantastic world.

Invitational callbacks will be held Saturday, February 11. Rehearsals are tentatively scheduled to begin early May; performances are tentatively scheduled to begin late May.

The Lead Vocalist/Host for this show is covered under the terms and conditions of a collective bargaining agreement with the American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA).

Role:
Seeking strong musical performers with outgoing personalities. If cast, wigs and costumes inspired by Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland will be provided.

LEAD VOCALIST/HOST: Male, charismatic front man with ability to excite and energize an audience, strong Pop/Rock lead singer with an affinity for, and experience in, singing classic rock material such as “Don’t Stop Believin’” (Journey), “Shout” (The Isley Brothers), “Hot Hot Hot” (Buster Poindexter), “We Will Rock You” (Queen), and more. Will also sing backup vocals.

Requirements:
Please prepare 16 bars from one or two selections in the list below
Must be at least 18 years of age to audition
Bring a picture and résumé

Yikes! My concern about this being bigger than ElecTRONica is that ElecTRONica could easily get packed, making it really cumbersome to try to move anywhere within "TRON city". The walkways were very narrow and due to the nature of dancing, music, and the general congregation of bodies, it definitely did not offer much in the way of maneuverability.
Looking at some of these pics, it seems like the stages (?) are crammed up against the planters, etc.
I'm just curious how general movement will work when this thing is in full swing! :shrug:

Well the good thing about DCA is the walkways are much wider than DL's, so even when it's crowded the CMs generally keep a good traffic flow of guests. Hopefully it won't be too bad.

Not to be disagreeable, but I can't say I ever noticed CM's directing traffic, at least not on the most congested of thoroughfares. It seemed that even the seemingly large passages between the DJ booth and the control tent, etc. were a huge area of congestion and gridlock.

With positive thoughts in mind, I hope that they can do a good job of keeping things moving (not that there's anything wrong with hanging out and breakin' it down, but mostly for the sake of moving to and from the arcade/bar/etc.!)

It's sounding more interesting by the day!

This is looking like it's going to be fun!

They are really concentrating it in that otherwise ugly corner of the Backlot, so it's really going to be intense back there. Awesome!

Just noticed when I walked through the Backlot today: there's one small memento of TRON City remaining-the Stage 12 sign still resides on the side of the building. (Shh, but don't tell...if we're lucky, they'll leave it up!)

The colors kinda blend in with the Monsters facade. Which is a good thing, I know some hate how out of place it is but it's not like the "Hollywood Studios" area was anything to go home about.

I mean a park doesn't get uglier than this(not the Mad T Party stuff the actual land which I'm kinda surprised a lot of the buildings haven't received a paint job)
