Just felt like sharing a great experience I just had a couple weeks ago. I went to the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert here in Jacksonville and it was amazing. When they played Freebird, it was an undescribable experience. It was even better since Skynyrd is from Jacksonville so it was a hometown show. I loved it, just wondered if anyone else likes them?

MY FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME

When we see LS and Sammy Hagar Aug 5th in Beaumont, Tx it will be the 30th time I've seen LS, including the original band in 1976, and my 12th time to see Sammy. WOOHOO!!!! I can't wait. The only thing i like more than a good concert is a trip to Disney World. :D :animwink: There's nothing quite like Freebird live. What did they play off the new album? If you don't have it, go get it, it's great. It's called Vicious Cycle, and there's not a bad song on it.

I guess you could say i like them....lol

Cheers

OOO I'm jealous! I was supposed to go see Skynyrd and Sammy in Atlanta on Aug 2 but I can't go anymore cause Im having oral surgery the day before :( I love Sammy Hagar too. My dad and sister saw Van Halen here in Jville back in 95 for the Balance tour, man I wish I had gone. But yea I actually bought the Vicious Cycle cd today and you're right, not a single bad song! I really like the songs "That's how I like it" and "The Way." But at the concert I know for sure they played those 2 (they openend with That's How...) and they played Red White and Blue, Pick Em Up, and I think they played Mad Hatter but I'm not sure about that one.

That would be incredible. I LOVE Freebird. I would have given anything to see the original band, but i'd love to be able to see LS now.

I have my computer near my window, and one day when I was online, I was playing Freebird. When it gets to the part that sounds like birds, all of these birds started flying lining up on the fence outside the window. I have no idea if it was because of the song or what, but I probably had about 7 birds gather. They flew off, and when I played the song again, some more came. I thought that was so funny. Glad you had a great night!

Freebird was mine and Kelly's class song. lol. So this thread made me giggle a bit.

Plus all the local musicans have this thing with the song. It always gets requested but a funny look follows...but never the song. I dunno. I thought it was funny. ::shrugs::

Aw they dont wanna play it? Me and my friend play guitar and we always play it, its a great song and really fun to play, it sounds especially good with 2 acoustic guitars! Freebird was the senior song at my school last year too but that's mainly because Kristin Van Zant (daughter of the now singer of Lynyrd Skynyrd, so her uncle would be the original singer) was in the senior class of last yr at my school. She has a really nice car

DMC-12

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
Its fun to shout FreeBird!!!! At other bands in bars and clubs.. Heck... even if its a jazz club and Dave Koz happens to be playing  :D

You don't know who Lynyrd Skynryd is? I'm sure you've heard Freebird and Sweet Home Alabama. Eh I guess they're bigger down here in the south. Apparently that's why some people don't think they should be in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame (which I think is stupid, they defenitely deserve to get in).
