Luggage Allowance

We wanted to do a few days at WDW before going on 4 nt cruise on the Dream. I know you are only permitted to bring 2 pieces of luggage per person. My husband wants to golf at WDW before the cruise, so he wanted to know if his clubs will count as a piece luggage.

Another option is to skip bringing your own. Disney rents profession clubs for around $50-60 if memory serves me correctly. We fly, so renting is cheaper than slopping them around especially on a cruise.

At one time Disney provided free transportation to the golf courses. If you told the bellhop the night before they got together vouchers for free taxi service. Not sure if they still do this but worth checking into.

He had his clubs custom fitted, so he brings them everywhere. It's so annoying.

Disney still does the complementary transportation to the courses. I know this because I am a vacation golf widow. LOL

Be aware, you are going to be playing "store the golf bag tetris" in your stateroom the entire cruise.

You don't say that you booked a suite, but unless you did, you are going to be tripping over those clubs all trip.

Are you going back to WDW after your cruise, or straight home. Bell services will hold your stuff while on the cruise, if you will be returning to pick it up.

Owners Locker also does golf bag storage, but you have to sign up for a membership to do that (and again, return to the resort to get them)

Jen, check to see what the policies are on sports equipment. I know there's some sports equipment they do not allow guests to have for safety concerns. Things like dive tanks, spear guns, baseball bats, etc. come to mind. They may not let your DH have his clubs in your stateroom. Seriously, think of Tiger Woods and Elin Nordgren. :jawdrop: If not, I think maybe they'll store them for you. If your DH wants to golf at some of your ports (ie. Atlantis, etc.) they should be able to give him his clubs as he debarks at the port then collect them back as he reboards. Let me know what you find out. One of Tracey's gripes (whines ?) with the golf simulator on the Fantasy was that he wasn't used to the provided clubs. He wished he had his own to use. I don't think they'd let him bring them onboard for use in the simulator. It'd be nice, tho. He'd smash the crap out of the ball with his custom Mizuno driver.

I think a set would fit under the bed on the newer ships. I envision them there and shoved all the way up against the wall under the head of the bed. Question is will they allow them in the staterooms. They don't allow baseball bats. A golf club can incapacitate a person just as easily as a bat. ;)

True, they are not allowed in plane cabins either.

A small golf bag may fit. But if this person has custom clubs, I am picturing a tour sized bag in a hard travel case.

Tiger Woods & Elin Nordgren! LMAO!

We're getting an oversized verandah and I just want to take the damn things and do a hammer throw into the Atlantic. The oversized verandah will help me get leverage.

That's flippin' hilarious! As if you'd toss freakin' CUSTOM clubs! LOL! BTW, my FiL used to build clubs. Still has his workbench full of parts in his garage in Alabama. Their house sits facing the 2nd hole tee box. ;)

Oh, wow, that's cool about your FIL.

Haha, Kelly, I would probably become shark chum if I threw his clubs overboard. Ian bought a simulator, so he can golf all winter. It never ends. Good times, noodle salad.

That oversized verandah is good for all sorts of things!!! :)

Just keep in mind there's cameras hidden all over the place to keep an eye for people going overboard. Jump or push, there's cameras aaaaalways watching.

I shall never ever "christen" a verandah because I wouldn't want to see myself doing any of that much less subject some other innocent soul to such. That's just me. :bored:

So there'd be photographic evidence that Jen actually did throw the clubs overboard and she couldn't blame it on elves? :D

I didn't mean those kinds of things!!! I'm shocked, just shocked!!! :cautious: LOL!

That's what blankets are for...

No thank you. Just no.

...but then you miss out on those invigorating ocean breezes!

...that shrivel things up that aren't very useful when shriveled???

I read recently ((not sure if it's true but then if it's on the internet it MUST be true, right?)) that there's like a $200k fine for throwing something overboard. Or maybe that was at the Panama Canal. I think someone made little fun-packs with trinkets to throw to the people who come to watch the ships cross. The captain announced why that was not a good idea.

Yer not shocked.... come ooooooon.... I thought you was a redheaded Irish woman..... ;):D
