Love Those Disney Visa Points........Anything Special You Use 4?

Does anyone know if you can use Disney reward points to buy a disney gift card? Or is that not allowed? I thought I read on here before that people have done that before, but I wasn't for sure. One reason I ask is, if I wanted to get someone a gift card for their birthday using my points, I couldn't really let them use my rewards card. Another reason I ask is... I would hope I would use my points before they expire since it is like 5 years, but I was just wondering if, hypothetically, I did get to the point where they were going to expire, could I just redeem the points and then buy a gift card with the rewards card so I don't lose the money?
I think there is a place on the website for using your reward points to purchase gift cards.

We need time for things to happen.
We use our southwest for most of our purchases - free airfare is hard to beat.
However we use the disney visa every once in a while and managed to get a 75 dollar gift card for our trip in three weeks!

We normally get around $250 a year on ours and apply it to the dining plan for our annual Dec. trip. I love free money!

Got ours in 2007 and cashed them in last November, $1750 or so. After having our debit card numbers stolen we started using the Disney card for all purchases. Even some college tuition charges. We pay it off promptly. Used the money to pay WL And AKL resort charges.

I wonder how long it will take Chase to find out that Captain Jack's has closed?

I don't know why the list of restaurants where you can get the 10% off is so limited. It's not available at any restaurants we'll be going to.

Got the $200 gift card in the mail today. I THOUGHT the offer included one but couldn't remember for sure. So whoopee! Will pay for our California Grill dinner.

We accumulate rewards embarrassingly fast. :) We use the card for everything (groceries, gas, bills that accept credit cards, WDW trips) and pay it off every month. We upgraded to the Premier last year and easily pay for the annual fee in a couple of months with the additional 1% categories, so for us the Premier is easily worth it. We usually use the rewards for souvenirs, toys for the kiddo, and tips on dining (we are usually on the dining plan).

Also just redeemed my rewards dollars, so I now have $266 between the gift card and the rewards dollars. I figure this will cover a meal (California Grill probably) and some souvenirs - then I can tell the kids that's it for the souvenirs! ;)

DOes anyone know the length of time the GCs from the Visa are good for? We got one last spring, and had intended on using it on a trip this past month. That trip didn't happen, so I am just wondering the time limit on it.

there should be an expiration date printed on your card. If there isn't, go the chase site and check.

Like a PP said, there should be an expiration date on the rewards card. If you don't think you'll be able to use the points before it expires, you can use the points to buy Disney gift cards and they never expire.

I don't tend to accumulate too many reward dollars, but I like to use them at Food & Wine Festival-easier than paying with cash at each booth.

There is no exp date on the GC. To clarify, I was speaking about the GC, not the actual Visa cc.

I guess I will have to call or try to look it up online.
