Especially since it is close to me!

Do you think they will go bankrupt and close down?

In a word - NO!

I just cant see that happenning - Dont forget that it is the #1 tourist destination in Europe. I wonder how much is due to the cost of the Studios in the first place.

There is a simple answer to this one, as they did last time when things were looking grim, they opened Space Mountain - an attraction that takes a lot of credit from rescuing the park from doom.

DLP is in need of a major new UNIQUE big attraction. They have added nothing significantly new since Space Mountain, and the cookie cutter attractions of the Studios is just not cutting it. They need to generate unique reasons for people to visit, to see something new and incredible. I am sure they know this though LOL.

They had money problems before?

If this isn't as bad as it sounds then there is no hurry for me to go to disneyland paris!

To think I thought of going there instead of Disneyworld! :lookaroun

What about a Splash Mountain, from what I've seen they do not have one.

Maybe they could use a new theme... thus gaining a Major unique draw for the park and using a tried and true ride concept???

There was a rumour about a water coaster.... Who knows?

But I know a crane was spotted in the park so we may be seeing something in 2005/6!

Not sure this would work, in light of the climate being nothing like Florida / California.

How many people want to get wet, on a cold day?

True, and although I don't consider myself to be that wet after riding Splash, I'm sure some would. My mom doesn't ride Splash Mountain because of this reason. I'm sure there are water features and splashdowns that could be changed to minimize Splashback.

However, how much colder are we talking? There are plenty of water rides in lots of Northern parks including some that totally soak you.

Are you talking about the one near the Studios? If so that is unfortunately for a new parking lot :(

Come on Disney!

Agreed!

That park has some nice incarnations of classics, but the park has been rather stale for several years now. The Alice Maze and Indy Coaster just isn't cutting it anymore and the park can't thrive on Space Mountain alone.

I don't get it really. I mean even the studios has a spot for Tower of Terror, yet nothing has developed. Who makes the decisions for money spending at this park?

That's a shame!

And WDW Spider, I'm actually asking myself the exact same question but can't figure out the answer! They even have a construction wall with the hollywood tower hotel sign (HTH)...

They got a loan from the disney company! Start using it!!!!!!!!! They better expand the studio before I loose control!!!!!!! :fork: :fork:

But it's such a shame this is the situation because I live closer to paris!

Steve, do you have a clue when will construction begin?
I'm sure you have an inside source.... :lookaroun :animwink:

Its obviously pretty seasonal - but I was there last New Year (and going this NY too :) - had to get that in!!!) And it was SERIOUSLY cold, I am talking shirt, jumper, coat, hat and gloves weather - I am damn sure I would want to get wet in all that!

I have been in April a few times too, and although quite nice, it is still not what I would call comfortable to be walking round even slightly damp.

I know someone who went last summer and it was boiling hot, but I think that generally it isn't warm enough to dry people off.

I agree 100% with Mark, it is far too cold for a Water ride at DLP! (I too was on Resort last new year, and Also will be going again this year and agree with the whole clothing thign LOL) I would like to see a water ride come to the resort, but I think that needs to come further down the line (much further down) once they are making a profit (ok MUCH MUCH further down the line LOL). At the moment they need to invest in a Major Attraction suitable for ALL weather conditions, something that will help the finances :)

There will be 2 new rides in 2005: Buzz Lightyear's Space Spin and a water ride in Frontierland (splash mountain?)

I think they need to do more than only open a few new rides....
Like better service and creating a nicer atmosphere with little things (fire at the entrance of adventureland and Indiana Jones, smoke at space mountain etc.)
Those details and a friendly staff will help to put the magic back into Disneyland.
My experience is that it's a very cold park (and not only because of the weather).

Disneyland Paris is only a 4 hr drive for me, but I rather spend 9 hrs in a plane to experience some real Disney magic.

How do you know?

I doubt that because they want to fix up the studios first! + With what money will this happen?

BTW Post #500!!! :sohappy: :king: :sohappy:

I really think Expedition-Everest would fit perfectly in Adventureland behind Indiana Jones. The architecture of the Indiana Jones attraction fits perfectly with the architecture of the new E:E ride being built @ Animal Kingdom.

They could build a whole new area of Adventureland with an abandoned town sitting at the foot ofthis 200ft mountain. Its a perfect it. And im sure it would bring in thousands of people

Good idea!

Now all DLP needs is money! :(
