$1,950 @ duty-free leaving the US, but I got dinged badly for being honest coming into Canada, $3.95 duty, $23 HST [sales tax] and a whopping $911 Ontario liquor surcharge! [despite significant pre-trip research, that surcharge was not found anywhere, until it came time to pay  ]

Would have cost me $2,800 just to buy it at home.

EDIT: But it's not Brandy...
. Nice one.My brother in law was given a stone jug of 21 yr old "Royal Salute" by Chivas Regal by a sheik in Dubai, but he doesn't drink whisky.Had it for several years but opened it three weeks ago for my 60th birthday.Just had one wee dram.Oooooooommmmmmaaaaaahhhhh.:)

Back to the topic at hand. Here are a couple of my firsts:

Churro - Picked one up many years ago while walking around the Studios and while it is quite tasty it is not one of those thing that I really crave and have manybe had 2 more over the last 10 years.
Smoked turkey leg - Sat on the wall in Frontierland gnawing away at it and was not that impressed
Sushi - Tried it @ Cali Grill and loved it. Unfortunately had some of the best first and maybe set my standards too high.
Brussle Sprouts with bacon butter - Had these little gems @ the Yachtsman Steakhouse and now have to make them at home about once a month. I liked brussle sprouts already, but this takes them to a level that will covert many avid brussle sprout haters. They are that gooood!!!
Pineapple soft serve (Dole Whip) - Never have I had Pinapple ice cream and though that pinapple should never be an ice cream flavor, but that first taste of Pinapple Dole Whip swirled with that smooth and creamy vanilla was really as treat.
Bangers & Mash - Not many Irish places around me so I never really had the honor of trying this flavorful dish. Had B & M on my birthday in 2005 sitting along the railing while watching Illumination. I am not sure it was the food, beer or my favorite show in the world but is certainly was magical.
Corned Beef Hash W/Jalapenos - Tried this quite a few years ago and let me tell you I am sold. They have this Spicy corned beef hash @ Donald's Breakfast Safari and I make sure I stop in at least once per trip to chow down. The once of twice a year I make corned beef hash for myself at home I now add a bunch of finely diced pickled jalapenos to it. Yum!
Spaten Optimator - I was pleasently surprised when I tried this for the first time on a trip to WDW. Unfortunately this is not being served in Epcot Germany anymore.
La Rossa - Never had this Italian beer before Via Napoli opened. I ordered a pitch to go with our meal and was pleasently surprised by this delightful full flavored beer.

I never have been timid about new foods. I figure that if I don't like it I don't have to order it again and if I do like it, well something new to add to repitore. Anyway, after eating C-rats on a regular basis for three years how bad could anything be?

C-rations were canned military food that could be eaten cold, or heated in various ways. They were replaced in the 90's by MREs (Meals ready to Eat). In the 40's the Government listen military meals as A-rations, basically regular food served in a Mess Hall, B-rations condensed food to be served in field kitchens and the afore mentioned C-rations. There were also D-rations a sort of early protein/energy bar as well as K-rations developed for Airborne troops during WWII lighter and more compact but very similar to C-rations. I have eaten all of the above in my 30 years in the Army. Some were good and some horribly bad, End of lesson.

MREs I've had...luckily, never had to try the Canned rations. (Worked in my uncles military surplus store. he made me try the MREs and he'd force feed me the funky ice cream...rofl)

I tried MREs (or "man-food" as we call them) once during my Antarctic field training. I accidentally chose the most flavourless one of the lot, so it put me off them!

We would often punch a hole in the lid of a c-rat can and jam it onto the exhaust of a jeep or truck. Drive around and voila, hot food. We would forget to tell an FNG about the hole in the lid and after a bit the can would explode. FNG gets to clean up a big mess. :D

We were all FNGs at one point, I always hated the heat tabs, they would heat the food but the heat would cause the food to "push up" in the can and before you knew it you had a handfull of spagetti, or ham & Limas or whatever.

I have about 8 grand worth of booze on my bar, gotta have something to tide me over between Disney trips! ;)

Next trip: WDW in April for WDWCelebrations' Flora & Fauna
Then: DLR for two weeks in August for and around D23 Expo

Assuming of course the apocalypse doesn't arrive in ten days.

Don't worry Monty. According to the information in the Mexico Pavillion at Epcot, the end of one Mayan calendar only means that a new Mayan calendar will begin.

BTW: Beignets at PORS and (I believe) Creme Brulee at Le Cellier. Various cheeses all over WDW. Various breads and chutney's at Sanaa.

You know, my husband loves different kinds of cheeses, loves the strong ones and then funky breads. Idk what my issue is, but I can barely venture out of cheddar...lmao!!

I had no idea there was various cheese out there, I will be on the look out next time. Josh would think that was awesome!

Beignets are at POFQ as we walked from Riverside on our last day to taste these delights.:)
