Two years ago, 2008 Disney tossed out an entire team with parents. IIRC to much fighting and other issues. They ended up at a Motel 6 to finish their stay.

I will be at Disney Dec 6-11 at the GF. Has anyone been at WDW during the same time as this group. Do you think this would affect my trip or my Family's experience. I am spending a lot of money on this vacation and it will be my Family's 1st Christmas trip. I would hate to have it negatively impacted by a large roudy group . I also planned it during the 2nd week of December under the impression it was a slow time in the parks. Will it be really busy and will there be extremely long lines ? Hopefully not. If anyone has any experience being at WDW during this time , and while this group was at WDW, please advise of your experience and maybe share some tips.

I am soooooo happy we were able to get 40% off resort discount - we were orginally booked to stay at POR (which we love) but when I found out about Pop Warner it made me hesitant to stay there. So when the discount came out - we switched to Wilderness Lodge! First time staying there - can't wait!

IMO, they really don't effect the parks much, just the resorts they're staying in. They're usually competing during the day, and will come to the parks in the evening, but we didn't see them much last year. Mostly at the fireworks. They don't make the lines longer either.
Have fun!

I would avoid DHS on 12/8 because it looks like they will be having an after hours party for the Pop Warner kids. (16,000 participants expected to attend)

Thank you for this info!!!! We'll be there the 4th-14th, now I know for certain to stay away from DHS on the 8th.

To the OP, we've been going this same time the last 5 years and for the most part we haven't had a problem. But we don't stay near them either. I think we had one annoying cheer group at MVMCP last year.

Yeah- this is the one part of our trip that worries me. We'll be at WDW Dec 7-13th- we're staying at WL, so these kids shouldn't impact our time back at the hotel- and I know that they do their competing during the day. So, it's just the eliminated kids who go to the parks during the day and the evening hours that worry me. i.e. things like MSEP, evening EMH at Epcot, Fantasmic, and MVMCP have me nervous.

This question comes up a lot on the WDWToday podcast. While the resorts that they stay at become very crowded, the parks are only minimally affected. While they are still in contention, they are very busy, when they are eliminated, they quickly leave.

The "free" crowd calendar at touringplans.com is being released daily for your dates right now.

We'll be there the 2nd - 11th too! So I've been checking every day. So far the crowd's have been 1's and 2's (scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most crowded) Saturday, Dec. 4 and Monday, Dec. 6 are 5's, but I think Saturday is due to the ABC Christmas parade being taped at MK. Don't know why MOnday is a 5, but Tuesday, Dec. 6 is a 1!!!! I like those numbers! :)

Some years ago, we spent our honeymoon at POR and it was excellent. Eversince then, we have been wanting to go back to POR, but we refuse to book there because of Pop Warner.

Fortunatly, we are booking into Coronado Springs. Its not the same as POR, but we don't want a very expensive vacation spoilt by PW.

Im glad we'll be outta there by the 4th!! Ive been around when the cheerleaders are there and all the Brzilian tour groups. what a pain!! thay take up all the space talking and texting instead of paying attention to what they are doing and then when they get to the counter say to order food, they dont know what they want !!!!!!!!!:brick:

Been going the first week in December for about 15 years now. It is THE BEST TIME TO GO....PERIOD. Crowds are historically at their lowest. In fact, if you do this a few years, you almost get spoiled by the lack of crowds and when you go any other time of year, the place seems crazy packed! :ROFLOL:

Couldn't do first week this year because of my job, but will make do with 12/10 through 12/18. I'll just be getting out of there before it gets absolutely CRAZY.

And with years of experience dealing with the Pop crowd, its 10000x better since WDW cracked down on them in 2008. I stayed at Pop with them a few years and it was packed, loud, and kids running amok with zero supervision while the "responsible" adults sat on their coolers around the pool at 1am drinking beer.
