Looking for Epcot suggestions!

My family and I are still considering where to dine at Epcot. We usually eat there only once so we want to make it a good one! Also, we are looking to try something a little bit on the "nicer" side. We did San Angel last time and really enjoyed it, but we are looking for a new spot.

Any suggestions? And how are the choices in Germany specifically?

Thanks for your advice, it's much appreciated!

Germany has a quick service and a table service. Biergarten is the table service and is a buffet featuring German foods. Guests sit at communal tables (so unless you have a large party you will share a table with others) and entertainment is provided by a fun band.
The inside is well-themed (like San Angel) and makes for a unique dining experience. If you like German food, it is a must-do.

I enjoy Le Cellier.

Other "nice" options are Monsieur Paul, Rose & Crown and Via Napoli. A hidden gem is the Restaurant Marrakesh.

I've never been a big fan of the food at Biergarten, but the entertainment can be a plus.

We always do Teppan Edo or Tokyo Dining at least once. The food is awesome and the wait staff are great. Just know that if you don't have a large party they seat 8 to a table most of the time at Teppan Edo (Hibachi Style dining). Also, if you really, really luck out at Tokyo Dining you can get one of the tables by the window during Illuminations.

Epcot Suggestions:

Via Napoli is always a must when we visit Epcot, Le Cellier is nice and good but it is a signature restaurant so will cost you 2 meals per person if on dining or a little pricey if not or try Coral Reef which is very nice especially when you get a seat right my the sea window (you can request this). We love Biergarten as well but I would not consider it a nice restaurant but the entertainment is great just be aware that if you have less than eight in your party you will be seated with other families.

If you have kids, Teppan Edo is pretty yummy and my kids always enjoy the chef's performance.

We're also big fans of Restaurant Marrakesh, the bastilla is excellent and the music and bellydancers are a hoot. The children get to dance as well.

And for the character meal, we've been to Akershus. The cold appetizers - meat, cheese, salad bar is actually pretty tasty and the meatball entree is perhaps a bit better than what you get from IKEA. But really, it's all about the ambiance and getting to hug Snow White.

I'd recommend Via Napoli if you are wanting something a bit on the quiet side. I actually prefer Restaurant Marrakesh because the food and entertainment are both excellent, and it is usually really easy to get an ADR for whatever time you want. It's just a bit on the loud side in there because of the music playing. I wouldn't recommend the Biergarten if you are wanting something nice and private, although I think the music in there is great. As a previous poster mentioned, you will be sitting with others at a large table unless you go with a big group.

Chefs de France is also nice but the last few times I have been there, I didn't think the meals tasted fresh. Tasted as if they had been sitting for a while before they were brought to the table. But the ambiance and service there were both good. Could have just been anomalies on the food preparation when I went the last few times. I may give it another chance when I'm there for NYE.

We like The Garden Grille at The Land.

Food: Healthy food (they say they grow the veggies and raise the tilapia and catfish there - and they're always amazing). Served family style and all you can eat.

Atmosphere: The restaurant rotates and you see some scenes from the boat ride.

Bonus: You get great FaceTime with Mickey, Chip & Dale and Pluto. We feel it's the best bang for your buck dining wise at Epcot. Our kids got more FaceTime here than ANYWHERE we've been in the parks for M&G or character meals.

Tips: Do an early ADR and note that you'd like the lower level seating (better view and room to get pics with characters). We had heard they only seat larger groups of 4 or more or people only staying on property but we were able to note it on our ADR (2 families of 4 a staying off property) and we got the lower level, each family in their own booth. Do the earliest dinner sitting and it's always pleasant and keeps us full for the rest of the day. I understand they may have added lunch but we love the dinner.

Thanks everyone for your advice! Personally, I am dying to try Marrakesh, but unfortunately my family is not as daring as me when it comes to taste. We are still deciding what to do, but your insight has been most helpful.

I see a lot of people recommending Via Napoli, but honestly, I would only go here if your family wants pizza - something I'm guessing you're not considering you wanted something on the "nicer" side. Don't get me wrong, Via Napoli is great and the pizza is very good, but for a more traditional Italian meal and one that fits your "nicer" side request, go next door to Tutto Italia.

In regards to Biergarten, this is a place to go with larger groups of people so you don't sit with a bunch of random people at your table. Also, it's buffet style so again, not really on the nicer side.

Hope this helps!

This is a GREAT and thorough recommendation. I've considered eating here, but we never did it. Now you've put it higher on my to-do list!

Thanks! It's the one restaurant that's ALWAYS been on our must-do, every single trip. We've never been disappointed. Just book early and note you want a booth on the lower level. Ride "Living with the Land." Our kids were excited to eat their veggies and fish because they saw it growing on the ride.
