My daughter, two grandsons and myself are looking to take another WDW vacation together. It's been 12 years since we all went together. We stayed at the Contemporary last time but now the grandsons are 24 and 20 and I will probably be paying the majority of this trip so looking to go on a budget.

I have stayed at All Star Music, All Star Sports, Contemporary and Polynesian. Love the Poly the best but ...

Thinking about a family suite at the AOA but it is kind of decorated for smaller children but probably would not be a problem. There is two bathrooms which is a plus. We could book adjoining rooms at the Pop Century and it would be cheaper. We could stay in the Wilderness Cabins but only one bathroom.

Prices for the 4 nights we are looking at right after Thanksgiving is:

Pop Century - $1,165.64 (2 standard rooms)
Art of Animation - $1,563.77 (family suite)
Wilderness Cabin - $2,833.82

Any other suggestions? Looking at 11/26-11/30.

We have stayed at AOA last two trips, 2 Full bathrooms will be a Plus, as for as theme, we were all adults, two men and two women, who wouldn't like Cars (men) theme or Nemo , its really a nice resort, and we have stayed almost all over the years, if your a Disney fan you will probably like it, there are lots of kids, but I kind of like that now that ours are grown, we booked at high rate but waited till discount cane thru, wound up being $ 279.00 for suite, not to bad.....

Pop Century is my family's favorite...plus the transportation to and from the parks is quick...they don't share with other resorts.

I would go with two standard rooms over a suite. That way everyone has their own bed and own space instead of two people sleeping on fold outs in the shared living space of the suites. I personally would go with one of the all stars because with pop when someone is using the 2nd bed in the refurbed rooms you lose the table. Unless of course your are going during Pop Warner week, then I would go with pop century and make due without a table in the room.

I agree with Diesel Dan. Get 2 adjoining rooms at Pop Century. I would call Disney direct to book, as you could specifically request two adjoining rooms, something I'm not sure you could do with sites like hotels.com or orbitz. (But I may be wrong. I've used both sites, but never needed two rooms before.)

Since you're paying for it, and since everyone is adults, I think two standard rooms are your best bet. Give disney a call to get them ajoining if you want, but overall people enjoy two rooms over a suite. It gives the grandsons some space and you and your daugher your own.

@MissViv if you decide on two rooms at Pop Century it is important to note:

Connecting rooms have an interior door which allows guests access to both rooms (as long as the door is unlocked.)
Adjoining rooms are merely next to each other (or in close proximity) and do not have an interior door.

The terms are not interchangeable. Make sure you request correctly so Disney can accommodate what you want.

Just remember that while Disney always does their best to accommodate requests, they don't guarantee them in most circumstances. So even though you request connecting rooms, it is possible that your rooms will not ultimately be connecting or even close to each other. If you absolutely have to be together, then a suite that can handle all of you comfortably in one room would be the way to go.

I popped your dates into the cost calculator at David's DVC Rentals. I also went onto the DVC website to check availability. At the moment, when it comes to studio rooms (and I only looked at studios because I know you wanted to keep prices low), the only availability is at Saratoga Springs and a Savannah view at Kidani Village. But the Saratoga prices would be $768 (standard) or $960 (Preferred - only difference is location, room sizes are the same). The Savannah view would run you $1088. Now to get one of those rooms, it's a queen sized bed and a sleeper sofa, I don't know if that would feel too snug...

OR...

I'd say think about getting two standard category rooms at Saratoga through Davids. It's roughly the same price as the Art of Animation suite ($1536), but you're getting larger rooms, two kitchenettes (if you need it), 2 queen beds and 2 sleeper sofas. 2 bathrooms, the resorts have much nicer amenities (and the rooms feel more for grownups than Art of Animation), some quiet pools, onsite sit down restaurant that is very nice, walking distance to Disney Springs...I'd at least consider it.

Otherwise I'd go for Pop Century because at that point I'd think most if not all of the rooms will be refurbished which means each room will have a standard queen sized bed and a queen-ish sized Murphy bed.
