So i was in at Magic Kingdom on October 1, 2011 for the 40th, and it was the First time i have ever Made Magic Kingdom Rope drop, and it got me wondering, how many of you here at WDWMagic have ever done Magic Kingdom from Open - Late closing (11pm or later)

The first time i got close was NYE 2011, i was in Magic Kingdom from 10:00am - 2:30am.

The 40th, i was outside the park gates at 7:30am, and left at 12:10am (didn't park hop or leave at all)

As far as being in the park, I'd say our latest was from 8am for CP, until midnight. We always get to the parks right at opening or before and we NEVER leave until closing, or we might linger around longer.

I don't think i could do Magic Kingdom when they close at fireworks, its fun when you get a couple extra hours with barely anyone there, at night.

I'm planning on going to Magic Kingdom this month again when they are open until 1am, and go for opening (8am, and stay for the closing 1am), but this time, park hop atleast

Not old, just vintage.
I've done MK from rope drop at 9am straight through until 3am at the end of EMH. I definitely don't recommend that. After 18 hours things become decidedly less magical in the Magic Kingdom. :lookaroun

We went to the Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day (it was either '98 or '99), and we stayed from 8am til about 11:30pm. That's the longest I've ever been in a park. The lines were extremely long and it was freezing cold, but we sure did have a fun time.

On Oct 1st as well! Me and my mom got there at 650 am that morning and didn't leave until after midnight and never left the park all day :)

We don't usually spend a whole day in one park, we hop a lot. But in 1989 (yes I know it was a looooooong time ago) we went for one day on our honeymoon. We weren't into doing Disney like we are now. Anyway, we were there from rope drop which was about 8 am and we didn't leave until after midnight. We had fun, there were two downsides, 1)I got heatstroke and 2)we had a 4 hour trip home that night. I would do it again in a heartbeat even tho I'm not so young anymore.

We did rope drop until 2:00 Am during an EMH day. I was toast! I was so tired at the end. Now I always make sure i go back to the room for a few hours.

I agree with that. We stayed until 3am on our last trip and I have to say that SM isn't nearly as fun when your forcing yourself to stay awake for it at 3am. We didn't stay at the MK the entire day we did head back to the room for a little while. I cant imagine what I would have felt like if we didn't come back for a short R&R. :snore:

I have stayed open-to-close at the four parks with EMH several times, and I actually plan on doing it again soon. By the end of the night it does get to be a bit like that guy on TV that eats huge portions of food as a challenge. You can claim that you did it, but you're left wondering why.

Ive been from opening until 2 A.M. because my kids wanted to stay for the EMH. Around midnight the youngest started complaining and at about 1 the oldest was done for the day. I was pushing them around and it was their idea. Needless to say that hasnt happened since.

New Years Eve 2009 we got to the Magic Kingdom at 6:30 AM for 7AM extra magic hours and we got on the bus heading back to Pop at 2:30 AM the following morning. And to top it off . . . my wife was 6 months pregnant. At one point, she was asleep on Main Street while we were waiting for the fireworks.
