Long Line Memories and Line Etiquette, Your Worst Line Experiences

Adults are adults and can hold it and if you are in an adult and about to get in a long hour pus line you should have the common sense to go to the restroom just in case before you get in line.
True, but there are conditions and after an hour standing I don't see an issue with someone stepping out, but then coming back in 15 minutes. I was saying that after an hour when you just have a group say they are catching up to friend/family/whatever, that's cutting.

I remember being in line for RnR and two kids a bit ahead of me were signalling to their peers behind me to go join them. They were speaking portuguese so I guess they didn't expect people to understand. I moved so that I was blocking the line of sight between the two groups and told the ones in front there would be no line cutting in front of me. Didn't happen.

Another fond line memory, also in RnR: when the line opens to the preshow, as always they repeatedly said "move in to fill all available space". But a couple ahead of me instead of doing as told, lined up behind another couple, who were in front of the door. I didn't line up behind them, instead moving to stand in front of the door as well. The lined-up couple were ed off and started talking badly about my manners to themselves in portuguese. I replied and said the voiceover clearly stated to fill in all available space. The couple tried to argue some more, I replied with "it's not my fault you don't understand enough english to listen to basic instructions", to which they tried to backpedal and act like it was all beneath them with "oh it's just a skip of two couples, it doesn't make a difference anyway" to which I pointed out then they shouldn't be whining about it and they finally shut up.

My bad -and worse- line memories are all at Universal and I think that's not what the thread wants. Unless quick service lines count?

If food line counts, half-bad memory: was in line at Backlot Express. Had paid for food and was waiting in a mini line at the counter. Started noticing every other place (aisle? you know, how the counter is sorta divided by cashier you paid for, not sure how to better describe it) was getting their meals except the people in front of me in our line, who were chill and weren't noticing (which is fair, but I was hungry). After 5 minutes of literally no one in front of me getting any food I started asking the CM what was going on. Hearing my complaint, the people finally woke from their pixie dust stupor and revealed some were there 15 minutes without being served. Lo and behold, there was an issue with the system, and every order from that cashier wasn't reaching the kitchen, and somehow no one had noticed. It took another 10 to 15 minutes for them to fix it, in the meanwhile they handed people after me their food first. I consider it half bad because by the end I was raging enough (hungry, ed off and with a FP+ coming soon) that they gave me an extra "any time" FP+ for ToT to shut me up.

that may be true for most, but there are people with issues like Crohns, IBS, or even being pregnant that may cause an immediate need to use the rest room. I’ve never cared if someone steps out to use the bathroom and come back, my issue is when half the group isn’t there when they get in line In the first place.

Or are menopausal or have small bladders or bladder issues or , if it's a thrill ride, get nervous in line and they're nervous pee-ers. Not everybody has perfect health.

Yes, but in most cases when people claim they are returning to the line after a bathroom break - you can just tell which one's are scamming you.
It's usually younger people who pull this trick, and there are usually more than one of them.
It's not usually a mid 50's guy with prostrate issues.

This Christmas we were surprised when we got to Orlando airport and went up to the desks for the Magical Express. There was a family behind a family being served at one desk, then two other desks that were just serving someone and had no line. We went up to queue behind one of the other desks and the woman in the family who were queuing said very loudly 'there's a line', we started to explain that there were three lines but she was having none of it and told us to get behind them. We did, stupidly, because we didn't want to make a scene. Then it was their turn and as they went up to the desk, more people went to all the other desks and it turns out this family hadn't got any of their paperwork ready, couldn't find their ID, were just generally making it as difficult as possible for the CM trying to sort it out. We moved to another desk as soon as one was free and ended up getting on the coach just as it was about to leave, while that family were still searching through their bags for their things.
I don't understand why every customer service venue hasn't gone to the "one line serves all positions" paradigm. If you don't have enough space to do that, then have people take numbers. Nothing will jack people up quicker than a Frank Perception of unfairness in customer service.

I had a woman suddenly step in front of me at Harambe Market and go off on me for "trying to cut in line". Oddly, she looked nothing like the elderly couple I'd been behind the entire line. I let her go next 'cause she was cray-cray.
It's almost like half the people in the parks are there just to see how much unmitigated gall they can get away with...
