Long Line Memories and Line Etiquette, Your Worst Line Experiences

Okay, my worst line experience:

It was right after Rapunzel and Flynn were debuting in the Tangled Meet and Greet next to the Castle (where Merida is now). My friend and I were waiting and the line was creeping up towards the castle, about an hour. We had been patiently waiting, since I really wanted a picture with Rapunzel. I was 23 at the time. We had made friends with the people in front of us, and had a nice time with me sketching a picture of Rapuzel for the young girl in front of us. This whole time I can hear the annoyed mutterings of the mom behind us.

Anyway, we make it to Flynn and Rapunzel and Raps is going through my sketchbook, complimenting my art and Flynn is socializing with my guy friend. They're being cute and doing what they are supposed to. This annoyed mom complains loud enough for all of us to hear that "it wasn't fair that we were taking so long and we were adults. This is for children and her daughter has waiting a long time."

Meanwhile, I'm thinking "we waited just as long as you did, AND the characters are the ones who are dictating the speed of this interaction." Anyway, I start to tear up because I spent a lot of money to get to Disney World, and Rapunzel was my favorite princess. The CM who was working with the characters was so sweet. She pulled us aside after and gave us FPs for Splash Mountain, and then after the rude mom finished, the CM asked my friend and I if we would like to escort Rapunzel and Flynn to the Cast Member entrance. This mom was livid. She tried to get in my face and the CM told her. "I'm sorry maam, she's escorting royalty."

Boom.

Have you noticed that pass holders or otherwise frequent visitors at any park are the worst offenders and least courteous and pull the most of these poor behavior stunts. CM don’t stand a chance against them.

Why can't we all just get along ? Yes line jumping is unacceptable, but sometimes "nature calls". Think about this we're all heading in one direction and it's not being younger, it only needs the simple understanding, like your in a traffic jam, where you gonna go ? Lets remember we're all on vacation ! so let's just get along.

There is a big difference in mom has to jump out of line with the toddler for a bathroom break, and 1 person stays in line and 10 people go to the bathroom and come back and are magically now 15 people. And there is a difference in a kid and an adult, an adult should know better and use the restroom before entering the line. Its not about getting along its after a while it gets old.

I went to Disney the week of RoR opening. In the line for FoP the woman in the couple ahead of me left after half an hour - and came back with another couple - very annoying. I have to admit, when I was in the bunch for a 7DMT rope drop I eased my way ahead of a lot of strollers (it was just me - BF not really into Disney, came more to visit CM niece).

We meticulously planned our last vacation to Disney around the lowest attendance week on the “prediction” calendars... second and third weeks of February. Sadly, our last trip to the Crowded Kingdom. Lines were so long that one day we only rode four attractions. In February. To make matters worse. In Buzz Lightyear, we had waited and waited and waited outside, but as we neared the entrance to the building, a thirty-year old in front of us raised a triangular flag... neon green... and around forty teenagers rushed in from all over to cut in line in front of us. No one did anything about it. Seems it’s perfectly fine. Instead of staying in the line, we left... totally. Went over to Universal Studios. There wasn’t nearly the crowd as was at WDW. In addition, even their most crowded attractions have queue’s that are themed and entertaining. I used to love Disney, but I’m a Universal Studios guy now
I feel ya on that. But there is no way they would get in front of me without a fight. I'm pretty adamant about anyone getting in front of me at all. That being said, lady with a kid catching up to other family members I'll take it as a bathroom trip. But no way after waiting for an hour will any able bodied person get in front of me. after an hour, you would have seen that person leave the line to use the facilities or whatever so it's 100% one person holding a place to let everyone else cut. I've had words with adults, teenagers, those foreign groups, etc.... Sorry but no way. My time is just as valuable as anyone elses.

Yeah I would have shouted at the guy with the flag and kept shouting until they leave the queue.

There was a time back in the day that if one had a bad experience in the parks the guests would give the resort an earful of their awful experience. Sometimes a resort cast member would surprise the guests with a Mickey plush in their hotel room to cheer them up.

I had a woman suddenly step in front of me at Harambe Market and go off on me for "trying to cut in line". Oddly, she looked nothing like the elderly couple I'd been behind the entire line. I let her go next 'cause she was cray-cray.

Oh, and adults can have sudden bathroom needs too.
Adults are adults and can hold it and if you are in an adult and about to get in a long hour pus line you should have the common sense to go to the restroom just in case before you get in line.

that may be true for most, but there are people with issues like Crohns, IBS, or even being pregnant that may cause an immediate need to use the rest room. I’ve never cared if someone steps out to use the bathroom and come back, my issue is when half the group isn’t there when they get in line In the first place.
