sorry if this has been posted before but I nearly fell out of my chair LOL when i was looking for park info on universal studios website and stumbled onto a page where universal made a table up showing all the pro / cons why universal is better than disney LOL they even said that their hotel guests get free fast passes where as disney dont do fast pass for their hotel guests LOL:ROFLOL: ummmm thats because there free to all people. (i feel so sorry for the person that had made this list up as it must have been hard to think of things.

i mean i think universal is ok, nice for a day away from disney but how they can compare them self i dont know lol

take a look for yourself if you haven't already seen it

LOL very funny. I like how they list the rollercoasters, and they omit Everest so that Disney only have 5 coasters, compared to Universals 6.

Some of that doesnt make sense AT ALL.

The fastpasses bit - because fastpasses are free to everyone.
If you're not in a hotel for Universal you have to pay about $30 for a fastpass for ONE PARK.

The hottest entertainment bit, how come they compared some of their best RIDES to some of disneys best MOVIES

Then the rollercoasters and the thrilling rides, Universal and IOA is supposed to be a theme park for adults and teens with thrilling rides and rollercoasters. Disney isn't. Disney is a theme park for everyone with some thrilling rides but it's not exactly based on them. If that made sense lol.

The water parks bit, BB and TL are way better than WaW

Overall - Disney is better than Universal.

I laughed at that ... alot

That reeks of desperation. The comparisons don't make any sense at all, and they conveniently ignore certain facts (like, for instance, as was pointed out- Disney's fast passes are free for all guests).

The sad thing is, I know people who see these ads and believe them. I always have to educate them, and set them straight. Just doing my part...

This has been up for a long time, it probably just hasn't been updated.

As for coasters...

UO
Dueling Dragons - Fire
Dueling Dragons - Ice
The Flying Unicorn
Incredible Hulk Coaster
Revenge of the Mummy
Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster

WDW
The Barnstormer at Goofy's Wiseacre Farm
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Expedition Everest
Primeval Whirl - A
Primeval Whirl - B
Space Mountain - Alpha
Space Mountain - Omega
Rock 'n Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith

I'm sick and tired of the whole "OmGzZ uNiVeRsAl Iz jUsT cOaStErZ aNd ThRiLl RiDeZ!!!1!" thing. If it was, stuff like E.T. Adventure, Seuss Landing, The Flying Unicorn, etc. wouldn't be around.

That hasnt been updated in awhile. Personaly I think that Universal offers the best thrills while Disney offers the best experience. I wish Disney would do something like Universal's Meal Deal!

I agree. Although Everest/RnRC are two of my favourite coasters, and I think they are superior to any at Universal.

Might not be the popular opinion on here, but I do like Universal quite a bit; it's so different than Disney and of course both have pros and cons, and Disney is hands down the better of the two, but Universal DOES have some amazing things about it too.

correction... i paid $15 for my fast pass, and that queue actually moves alot quicker when at disney's. Also the one associated with the hotel is pretty much every ride in the park and unlimited.

more to the point - universal isnt just about thrill rides either. Basically i agree with nemo rocks - there is alot of kids rides at universal also...

In all my trips to Orlando I have never been to Universal. I know alot of people like it but I just can't see wasting a day that could be spent at WDW on it.

We just got back from a week at Universal. We are Disney junkies. We go for 2 weeks every year. But I do have to say, I believe as far as ride expeirence goes, we had more fun at Universal. Curse of the Mummy for one, is better to me than EE or RNRC. My children are 4 & 6. They could ride almost everything Universal had and they said they would rather go back to Universal next year. Now Universal is full of pooh when it comes to their "Fastpass" system. It is way too expensive. They could offer it free just like Disney does. Their parks are less crowded than Disney and Disney pulls it off for everyone. I think paying for it hurts their attendance. 30-45 minute waiting in line is fine, but at Disney, at least while you wait with a fastpass, you know you can go back to the attraction and get right on. You knock out 2 rides with the price of waiting for one. It's kinda insulting for them to ask $30 a day per person and from what their employees told us, it is only good for a 1 time ride limit for every atrraction. Overall, based on rides, we had more fun at Universal. As far as service goes, NO ONE will ever compare to Disney. To me, service is everything. Disney makes me feel like a family member. Universal makes me feel like a paying customer. I know I am a paying customer for both, but at least Disney makes you feel good about it.

Ohhh we have 3 water rides and Disney only has 2... Lets see you have a Flume Ride, a Water Rapid Ride, and a big drop water ride..... I'd take Splash Mountain over Jurrasic Park anyday of the week... And last time I checked the clubs at DTD were a lot more fun than the clubs ar CW.... Disney hotel Guests receive Free Trasnportation ans EVERYONE gets access to "fastpass"

i don't know i could literally do everything I wanted at Universal in 1 full day.

I guess the opinions expressed on this forum do match its name wdwmagic.com instead of Universalthrills.com ;)

I think both parks are their merits...but Disney is more of an experience. There's more going on in theming and planning. Waiting in Disney is more interesting. IMO. I live in Six Flags Great Adventure and I'm just not really willing to plan a whole trip to Universal when I have a reg. theme park near by. Not that SFGA is better, it's just more comparable. Perhaps if I rented a car or stay off-property I'd go for a day or 2 to Uni, but I'm willing to devote 9 days fully to WDW! (Can't wait til Jan)

Thats not exactly true about waiting in line at Disney esspecially Fantasyland. Universal has some really nicely themed queues for example the forest in ET, and the tomb in Revenge of the Mummy. MIB also has a pretty cool queue once you get inside. Universal is far from a regular theme park but at the same time its not an experience like Disney. Universal definately has the funnest rides and Disney has the most themed rides.

I've only been to Universal Studios in LA and it was the worst theme park I've ever been to. IOA looks really interesting but from what I can tell, I don't think Universal and Disney is much of a comparison.
They arent a comparison unless your comparing USF to DHS. In that case Universal wins.

If you look at the total package picture: IMHO this is the pecking order:

1. Disney
2. Universal/IOA
3. Cedar Point
4. Six Flags ParK(only point of reference Arlington, St Louis, Houston, San Antonio)
5. State Fair
