It was probably empty which is one of the reasons why it got caught up. Once they found the right spot it didn't seem to take much effort to move it forward. A log with people would have built up quite of a bit of forward motion and would have likely continued on. IMHO!That must have been some jolt when it came off the hill and got hung up.
Not possible to be stuck mid loop. Okay it isn't impossible but the probability of it happening is very very rare.Splash broke down on me once right where Brer Bear and Brer Fox are stuck in the tree and we sat in that seat for like 45 minutes or something. After that I started wondering what would happen if Aerosmith broke down mid loop? That would suck so terribly bad if that happened. The same could happen on Everest too couldn't it?
Since we don't know what caused it to get stuck, what we are doing is giving out things that we think are possible. I don't know if that was it, but, I do understand the scientific premise that things that are in motion tend to stay in motion. If they stopped the ride because of some other reason, then loaded or empty it might have had the same results, but, if it stopped on it's own after that drop, then my thought was that there might not have had anyone on it at that time. However, I do not know if that is true... it is just a guess and I'm sure that not "everyone" thinks it is because the log was empty. Why does anyone think it had to do with a log being empty? Haven't you ever seen the ride be restarted? The entire "fleet" is cycled through empty. Logs go empty all the time when there is no sustained demand. Splash Mountain 101 - There is a brake at the bottom of the drop. There is a sensor that sends a signal to close the brake to slow the log and a sensor to open the brake (there is also a sensor to let the RCS know that the log has cleared the brake too). If the second sensor malfunctions the brake will stay activated and the log will not continue forward until the brake is manually opened. Since you really can't do it with a log in the brake it has to be "muscled" through the brake. The reason another log doesn't come over the drop is that any fault with any of those sensors will cause an automatic ride stop.
Yeah I've also been walked off Splash. Also Winnie The Pooh and TTA.Not possible to be stuck mid loop. Okay it isn't impossible but the probability of it happening is very very rare.
We've been walked off of Splash before. One of the few rides I've had to walk off of (Test Track last week was the other in more recent history for me).
It has happened on other coasters...that would be a nightmare.Splash broke down on me once right where Brer Bear and Brer Fox are stuck in the tree and we sat in that seat for like 45 minutes or something. We had Pooh stop right in front of us so no walking off, just being stuck in the loading area. Splash was interesting, but Test Track was the neatest walk off for me.Yeah I've also been walked off Splash. Also Winnie The Pooh and TTA.
