A lot of new stuff at Seas this weekend...
A) They slashed and removed all of the plantlife in the old entrance/queue. It's really rather sad looking.

B) Dory, who was missing from the photo op for months, is back! Yay!

C) This oddly shaped piece of blue material was seen laying in the old queue. It looks decorative.

More photos from this trip will be popping up in articles at touringplans.com through the course of this week, you can follow the "this" link in my siggy for the exact page.

Well it looks like the sign is off the rock, i wonder if the water will no longer crash on to it. That was a really great effect, i hope it comes back.

I noticed that too.

Though I doubt they'll bring the wave effect back, I really hope they do!

I thought they were actually going to make the splash effect bigger and cooler. Too bad though that the original has always seemed to be an on and off sort of thing.

when i was little my grandpa told me the splashing was from the dolphins who lived in there, but i could never see them, nor understand how they lived among the rocks... i wasnt a smart kid...

They are using the same technology from the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage ride they are building at Disneyland. Except instead of sitting in a submarine and staring out of a porthole, you will sit in an Omnimover car and pass by big aquarium windows on your way to Sea Base Alpha.

oh sounds cool,is there a ETA for this ride opening anytime soon

The Inside the Magic blog at http://distantcreations.com/insidethemagic/
has the following report from a guest that recently went diving in the Living Seas.
"The Nemo ride cars are installed and the projection equipment is in the process of being installed. My wife and I took part in the dive programme at the Living Seas and the dive master shared with us that we may hear some strange noises other than dolphins while we were on our dive. He explained that they were working in the tunnel and that we would hear hammering and power tools in use, so of course we had to swim over and find out what we could see.

All of the windows were covered in plywood except for one overhead window in the middle of the tunnel, the clamshell ride cars, track and flooring are all installed and we could see workers stringing what looked like network cable.

The ride cars are a clamshell design in pearl white and look very similar to the haunted mansion cars in size and function."

I thought I read here that it was scheduled to open this October? The Disneyland ride doesn't open until next May, but the Epcot version opens earlier.

Maybe an East Coaster can confirm that October timetable for us?

don't feel too bad, just 2 years ago, I thought the Whales at the entry pond for Sea World were real for like 10 minutes. My wife just laughed the whole time
