The 20K photo is so depressing... at least the lagoon looked nice... I'd rather have that today (even just sitting there!) than another character greeting area. It added to the atmosphere of "Fantasy" even if it was dormant..

wow, all the room needs is a freakin disco ball and some music and you could have a party........ a small party, but sometimes those are best.

That room is the fed-ex lounge. We being Ryland Jeff and myself entered the room on "accedent" as it so happened that the fast pass line was out to the room with all the balls on the ground.

An educational note about the monorail:

What you see is the cover to the emergency roof hatch. There are pull handles on the hatch (on the bottom of it, visible only if you're right below it) that are used to pop the cover open. Often times, folks will grab the handles to help them stand up, not knowing that they aren't for that purpose. (even though they are labeled as such) This is why you will see the hatches open like that.

The hatches are equipped with safety pins and cables that prevent it from falling down and hitting anyone.

Why has Disney not changed the locks on the hatch covers? Because if they made them too hard to open, some folks might not be able to open them in the event of an emergency.

Yes, it can potentially look bad, but it's easily and quickly solved. And safety does come first.
