Lines - What's Your Threshold?

Obviously, we all do FP, so there are at least 3 rides we are guaranteed under a 15 minute wait (for the most part). But for the non-FP rides what type of threshold do you have for wait times.

For me 30 minutes is the red line.
20 minutes tops, that's why we always go in early May -
But, the year 7 Dwarfs was going to open (it hadn't yet), we waited 3+ hours in the hot sun, and they kept saying they weren't going to open it that day, but they did - So glad 100 or more of us in line hung in there. Finally, some High level manager came by, and said "let them in", then it was closed for the rest of that day.

45 minutes. The last few years we've been going in March or April, so it's super busy and we just have wonderful family bonding time standing in line.

i have noticed that a lot of the times when the ride time say 50 min or less, it usually is a lot less for us (ex: lots of times its say 50 min wait but turns out to be 35. so, mattering on the ride i may get in the line with 50 min on the wait time.

I hate lines for rides. Luckily living close, sometimes I drive over just to do my 3 FP and maybe a few others with short waits. My max is about 20-25 minutes. That 25 would have to be for my favorite rides too. I just generally like to bust a bunch out early in the morning. Do my 3 FP and if I am staying overnight I will come back and bust a bunch out late at night (Or just Haunted Mansion like 10 times in a row haha).

On a normal day, probably 30-45 minutes max.

HOWEVER....on our previous trip last week, we ended up waiting 145 mins. at TTSM on new years eve. It was 10:45PM with no other fastpasses available thru the whole park and we had 2 hours to burn. I will NEVER do that again.

My max is 20 for rides I like (HM, BTMRR, JC) and 45 for those I am excited about ( RnR, ToT, Soarin). I would probably wait an hour for 7DMT as I have not been in two years and have not experinced that yet. But I agree with those who said it depends on climate controlled line or not or if line is interactive.

30 minutes is my line in the sand. I have been on every attraction so many times that waiting an exorbitant amount of time seems frivolous. Even on the dog days of summer, you can get on rides without waiting more then 5 to ten minutes. An hour before closing frontier land empties out, and pretty much past 7 Haunted mansion and adventure land become pretty sparse, everyone is in Fantasy land tomorrow land and main street.

45-60 minutes, but a few years ago we were in Universal right after Diagon Alley opened and we waited 180 minutes for Gringotts, because it was the only time the wait was under 240 minutes the whole time we were there. When I say right after they opened, it opened on 7/8 and we were at Universal on 7/16. It was INSANE there.

If it's something I really want to do, 45 mins - 1 hour, otherwise 30 mins sounds about right. I always say, "I'll just do this ride next time".

In Tokyo Disney, it's another story. Depending on the time of year or day of week, realistically your threshold has to go up or you're going to end up not doing much.

I've been destroying my wait time patience with midweek trips to DLP in the off-season.

Currently my threshold is five minutes. Ten or so for E-tickets, with a few exceptions such as Crush. Yes, unbelievable, but true.
How I dread my next visit to 'corral 'em kingdom' WDW...

I was surprised to see this from you. I've been here long enough to see you around so I know you are a Disney fan. What's up with the dreading??? Just curious...

I love WDW! I just fear the long lines! WDW does not have any off-seasons anymore. Meanwhile, my recent trips have been to DLP, where I have mastered the art of going on the least crowded days in the off season. I am now accustomed to walk onto Pirates and the Mansion, wait ten minutes for RnRC, show up for parades and fireworks two minutes before showtime and expect a good spot.

OK, that's good. Just making sure you weren't turning against us... ;)

I'll wait up until probably 40-45 minutes for a first time on an attraction. Other than that, I stand by my rule of thumb of riding an attraction roughly every half hour, so generally twenty minute line or less, although there may be exceptions based on the particular ride or time of year that we're there for.

Our max is 30ish minutes... I think it is insane that they actually get as high as they do. They shouldn't. Disney should have been improving and expanding their parks like they did their resorts. It is ridiculous that people have to wait as long as they do. Waiting in a line also prevents people from spending money in the parks.
