I know a lot about surveys and statistics. You can give me a topic and I can take a survey and sway it any way I want with the same number of people asked.
Here is how you break it down for example. Say Disney surveyed 5000 people and the average use of fast passes were 7 per day. Then lets say Disney does not want to give that many out, so then they have to think of something to justify the 3 per day rule. In business, this is what they do next;
They start surveying 2000-3000 more people but only if they are guests 50 + and over. People this age have heart problems, plus a lot of the older people do not like to go on rides and prefer shows, parades and people watching. A lot of people in this demographic also suffer from motion sickness, are obese, diabetes etc. With this group, most likely 50+ adults do not get as many fast passes therefore the average of fast passes used in a day decreases significantly. In the end, they show justification through a survey that was pretty much watered down.
I work to help homeless people. I do these surveys, bring in the numbers my organization needs to get funding from HUD to help them.
What I would love to see is a survey of fast passes used per day, by families 20-45 years old with kids. Then I would like to see another survey showing the average age of guests entering the parks each year. What you will find out is that the majority of the fanbase that goes to Disney each year are families between the ages of 20-45, with kids and the fast passes used are way over 1.5. I am in the majority, and the 3 per day is going to hurt the majority.
